The cosy open world of Infinity Nikki is full of stuff to collect and find but some of the most important collectables in the entire game are the Whimstars. These pretty pink stars can be found scattered all over Miraland and often ask you to complete a short puzzle or combat challenge before you can grab them. Whimstars are used to unlock everything from new Outfit Sketches to ability-enhancing Whim Fragrances, making them a vital part of progression and collecting. Some of the first Whimstars you’ll grab in Infinity Nikki can be found in the Memorial Mountains, the first main area of the game and there are a total of 7 Whimstars to find, some of which are trickier to obtain than others.

The Magic of Whimstars
What are Whimstars?
Whimstars are one of the main collectables in Infinity Nikki. They appear in the open world as glowing pink stars and they’re a vital resource when it comes to effectively progressing through the game. Whimstars come in many shapes and sizes: sometimes, you’ll just need to find and reach a Whimstar to add it to your collection while, other times, you’ll need to complete a small puzzle, combat challenge, or timed sequence to get it to spawn.
Once you’re close enough to a Whimstar, Momo will enthusiastically inform you that one is nearby, allowing you to track down its exact location using Momo Vision. However, the radius of detection is rather short, meaning that you’ll still need to do a lot of legwork on your own, even in the relatively small Memorial Mountain starting area. You can check how many Whimstars you’ve collected in a certain area by mousing over said area on the main map.
Whimstars are used primarily in unlocking new nodes in the Heart of Infinity, Nikki’s in-depth Skill Tree. Here, you use Whimstars – as well as other required materials which change from node to node – to unlock Sketches for new outfits, Whim Fragrances for new combat and exploration abilities, and upgrades for existing outfits. There are plenty of nodes to unlock on the Heart of Infinity so you’ll want to stock up and find as many Whimstars as possible as you’re exploring Miraland.

All Memorial Mountains Whimstar Locations in Infinity Nikki
Memorial Mountains Whimstar 1, 2 and 3 Locations
The first three Whimstars tied to Memorial Mountains aren’t actually available out in the open world. Instead, you’ll find and use them as part of the tutorial, which takes place in a separate part of the Infinity Nikki map called the Stylist’s Guild Memorial. This area is very hands-on, with Momo leading you by the hand to each of the three starting Whimstars.
The Whimstars you find in the tutorial will be used to unlock the Bubbly Voyage and Wind of Purity Ability Outfits in the Heart of Infinity. You cannot return to the Stylist’s Guild Memorial after the tutorial, although the Guild building is physically located in the Memorial Mountains area which is why they count towards that total. As such, don’t panic when you only see four Whimstars appear as collected on the Memorial Mountain map.
Tutorial Whimstars
Memorial Mountains Whimstar 4 Location
Once you exit the tutorial and arrive at Memorial Mountains proper, you can begin your search for the Whimstars hidden around the first area. To find the fourth Memorial Mountain Whimstar, head to the Warp Spire by the Stylist’s Guild Memorial at the northern end of the map. This should be the first Warp Spire you’ll encounter.
After arriving, head down the road and keep an eye out on the left side of the path by the nearby lake. Soon enough, the Whimstar should pop into view across the water and, to reach it, you just need to carefully hop on over the rocks sticking out of the lake. Make sure to land safely on the rocks, though, as falling into the water will make you faint, taking away one heart.

Memorial Mountains Whimstar 5 Location
The fifth Memorial Mountains Whimstar is located a little further south of the fourth. The best way to reach it is to travel to Warp Spire next to the Statue in the OId Florawish Memorial: this is where you’ll find Kilo the Cadenceborn, a dragon poet who you can gift Dews of Inspiration for various rewards, including Diamonds and the Rebirth Wish outfit.
Follow the road out of the Old Florawish Memorial heading south and stick to the path while watching the left side of the forest. Eventually, Momo will perk up and inform you of a nearby Whimstar just off the beaten path. The main problem, though, is that it’s on the top of a pillar, one far too tall for Nikki to reach with her ordinary Floating ability.
Fortunately, the solution is close at hand. Nearby you’ll find a seesaw with a large crate on one end and an empty seat on the other. Simply hop onto the seesaw, jump as high as you can, and plunge onto the empty seat. This will cause the crate to go flying, sending you high up into the air when it comes crashing back down. From here, simply use your newfound height advantage to float over to the pillar and grab the next Whimstar for your collection.

Memorial Mountains Whimstar 6 Location
As luck would have it, the sixth Memorial Mountains Whimstar in Infinity Nikki is right next to the fifth and you’ll get a ping from Momo just as you collect the Whimstar atop the pillar. This time, the Whimstar is located in a small set of broken ruins just off the path leading towards Florawish. However, when you arrive, there will be no Whimstar in sight.
Instead, there will be a glowing pink chest in the middle of the ruins. Opening the chest will give you a nasty surprise when a bunch of Esselings hop out and begin attacking you. To spawn the Whimstar, as well as the other rewards inside the chest, you just need to beat all of the Esselings.

Memorial Mountains Whimstar 7 Location
The final Memorial Mountains Whimstar is likely the one that’s going to stump most players and that’s because it won’t appear until you unlock a specific Ability Outfit. The Ability in question is the Animal Grooming ability. All players will unlock this naturally as part of the main story when they’re given the Sketch for the Bye-Bye Dust outfit, although some lucky players might unlock another Animal Grooming outfit a bit earlier from pulling on the gacha.
With Animal Grooming unlocked, return to the Warp Spire next to the Old Florawish Memorial and make your south once more. This time, though, keep your eyes on the right side of the road for a small smattering of broken pillars (there may be Esselings in the area). Next to the pillars will be the broken remains of a dome roof and, if you have Animal Grooming unlocked, a Whimink will have spawned inside the wreckage.
Whiminks are a special kind of Whimstar puzzle in Infinity Nikki. They appear as small pink ferret-like creatures out in the open world and, like most animals in the game, they will run away if you approach them recklessly. Instead, to claim their prize, you must sneak up on them with an Animal Grooming outfit: once you’re close enough, hit the Groom button to tame the magical Whimink, who will leave behind a Whimstar as thanks.
