Firstly, characters will die, the question is who? The Jurassic Park franchise is riddled with death, but the writers have always been selective about who exactly bites the dust. For example, main characters never die. So, it’s unlikely that Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, Ian Malcom, Owen Grady, Claire Dearing, or Maisie Lockwood will die. However, who will be sleeping with the fishes by the end of Jurassic World Dominion?
Kayla Watts, and/or Ramsay Cole Will Die
This is a two in one because the same reasoning applies for both. DeWanda Wise plays a pilot named Kayla Watts and appears with Chris Pratt’s character Owen Grady throughout the trailers. Also, Mamoudou Athie plays Ramsay Cole, a BioSyn employee.
The movie already has a large protagonist group with the core 6 characters from the previous movies, so adding more is a squeeze. This could very well mean that Kayla Watts and/or Ramsay Cole only exist to be expendable.
Lewis Dodgson and/or Dr. Henry Wu Will Die
Not every Jurassic movie has had a human antagonist, but when there is one they have always died. Peter Ludlow, Vic Hoskins, and Eli Mills all died by the teeth of dinosaurs. The trailers for Dominion suggest that Lewis Dodgson is the antagonist of the film, so he may meet a similar fate. Perhaps the Giganotosaurus will eat him toward the end as a punishment for trying to control nature. It would be poetic for his most dangerous creation to end his reign of tyranny.
Some fans also count Dr. Henry Wu as a recurring antagonist throughout the franchise. The character actually dies in Michael Crichton’s first Jurassic Park novel, but Spielberg chose not to kill him off in the movie. One theory that’s been floating around is that Wu will die in Dominion and that the scene will be based on his death scene in the Crichton’s novel. That would be a nice tribute to Michael Crichton, and it could happen.
Camp Cretaceous is Mentioned Only
In addition to Jurassic World Dominion fans are looking forward to Camp Cretaceous Season 5. Many have begun to speculate about Dominion potentially having some tie-ins to Camp Cretaceous. After all it does take place during and around the other Jurassic World films within canon. So, some have suggested that characters from Camp Cretaceous may appear in Dominion, and that the organization Mantah Corp may as well.
However, considering all the content teased in the trailers thus far, this is already a loaded movie. Somehow the cast is going to visit a snowy setting, Malta, and a swampy jungle all in one movie. There doesn’t seem to be any room for a major tie-in to Camp Cretaceous. So, Colin Trevorrow will probably throw a minor mention in the film somewhere, but nothing too time consuming.
Isla Sorna is Mentioned Only
Lots of fans have also theorized that Isla Sorna aka Site B will return as a setting in Dominion. This idea began when Colin Trevorrow teased the image shown in the below video. While this does seemingly confirm an Isla Sorna reference in Dominion, it’s far from a confirmation of an appearance. Some settings that have appeared in images do somewhat resemble Site B, but there are plenty of other places in the world with large forests.
Furthermore, writing Site B Isla Sorna on a crate and placing it somewhere on set is exactly the kind of thing Colin Trevorrow would do as a small easter egg. An attempt to satisfy hard core fans without taking a risk by revisiting the setting of the poorly received Jurassic Park III. Just like how the writers of Camp Cretaceous Season 4 sprinkled mentions of Isla Sorna throughout the season, but always kept it brief. Hence, the most reasonable prediction is that Isla Sorna aka Site B is mentioned only in Jurassic World Dominion.
Alan and Owen have a Disagreement about Blue
This is begging to happen. Dr. Alan Grant and Owen Grady should have some sort of interpersonal conflict pertaining to velociraptors. Alan seems to fear raptors more than any other dinosaur he’s ever encountered. Owen’s job in Jurassic World was training raptors and he developed personal relationships with Blue and the others to do so. Blue and her child have roles to play in Dominion, so Owen and Alan’s contrary feelings about velociraptors are bound to come into play. Perhaps Blue will save Dr. Grant’s life at some point and that will change his outlook on the species.
Those are 5 predictions for Jurassic World Dominion. The candidates to die are Kayla Watts, Ramsay Cole, Lewis Dodgson, and Dr. Henry Wu. Camp Cretaceous and Isla Sorna will likely only be mentioned. Lastly, Owen Grady and Dr. Alan Grant must have a disagreement over Blue the velociraptor.
Jurassic World Dominion hits US theaters on June 10th.
