5 Memorable Mortal Kombat Friendships: From Ultimate 3

Here are some memorable friendships from the video game Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. This arcade game was highly in demand among players during the 90s. These friendships were used by gamers instead of initiating a fatality.

5 Memorable Mortal Kombat Friendships From Ultimate 3

Just like for any Mortal Kombat “best of” list, this one will be hard to narrow down the five best friendships from the video game Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, in the series, but let’s give it a shot. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was a very important addition to the franchise, and also included some kinder finishers to your opponents in the form of “friendships.” These friendships were added into the game as a way to give the player the option of finishing their opponents in a barbaric way, or a comical way. First introduced in Mortal Kombat 2, this beloved add-on to the series finally made a comeback in MK 11: Aftermath. Here are my top five picks for the friendships found in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3

Sektor – Strength Testing Machine

So, the backstory is that…one day, Sektor decided to go to the local carnival and try his luck at the games there. He stumbled onto the strength-testing machine and grabbed the large mallet. Hitting it, and reaching the top on the first try, he decided to take the strength-testing tower with him to all his battles during Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. A very charming and laid-back friendship.

Sub-Zero – Happy Snowman

Sub-Zero is one of the most crowd favorites in the entire series, and his friendship doesn’t disappoint. He takes the superpower that he possesses, to cover himself in a very thick layer of snow. Thus, turning himself into a happy, friendly, looking snowman.

Kano – Blowing a Bubble

This one gets me because it’s just so random, and it would be like what Kano would do in a fight. Gets done pummeling you, and then all of a sudden, wants to take time to have a victory piece of bubble gum. He places it in his mouth, chews it a bit, and what do you think happens? Well, Kano can’t catch a break for nothing, so of course it pops and gets all over his face.

Kabal – Roasting a Marshmallow

It’s almost as though Kabal in this friendship kind of feels bad for his opponent, and he is like, “Hey man, cheer up…Let me roast you a marshmallow.” He takes out a marshmallow and uses one of his hook swords to roast it over a campfire. I enjoyed how Kabal tosses the marshmallow in the air, as he catches it on his twin hook.

Stryker – Crossing Guard

This one is a classic. Stryker decides to take out his whistle and blow on it, as characters from the game cross the screen while he waves them by holding onto a stop sign. I guess all of those hours of being the school crossing guard really paid off.
