Although some can argue that July was a bit of a bummer when it comes to game releases, August is here to revert that trend, with some amazing experiences right around the corner.
Enough talk, let’s check out some of August’s major game releases!
Two Point Campus
This simulation game is releasing on August 9.
The successor to Two Point Hospital, Two Point Campus is a business simulation experience that sees the player build and manage a university campus. The player has access to multiple rooms, such as classrooms, lecture halls, libraries, and other variations.
As a big fan of the simulation genre, I couldn’t be happier with this release. Two Point Hospital is a game I’ve played for countless hours, and I can’t seem to get enough of it. Its sense of progression makes for an incredibly rewarding simulator, that allows you to customize almost everything in the world you’re creating.
The Two Point series truly is one of the best building simulator franchises out there, and I’m extremely hyped to see what Two Point Campus can improve on its predecessor. For those reasons, I chose to include Two Point Campus in this selection of major games releasing in August 2022.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is coming to PC on August 12.
Telling an original story, Marvel’s Spider-Man arrives on PC with a remastered version. The game is played through a third-person perspective and focuses on the main character’s traversal and combat abilities.
For me, this is one of those games that every gaming enthusiast should try at least once. It truly defines a generation. Its top-notch narrative and exploration, combined with the smooth and amazing gameplay and combat system make for a brilliant experience all-around.
So, if you are a PC gamer, here’s your chance to grab a copy of arguably one of the best action games in history. For that, I chose to include Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered in this selection of major game releases.
F1 Manager 2022
F1 Manager 2022 is releasing on August 30.
Talking about another simulation game, we’ve got F1 Manager 2022, the official racing management simulator of the 2022 F1, F2, and F3 Championships. This game will offer an even more detailed career mode than the My Team experience, introduced in F1 2022.
Although I must admit, I’m not a huge fan of motorsports, the F1 experience has that special charm in it, and it really grabbed my attention. Personally, I loved everything in F1 22, from the amazing gameplay and vehicle physics to all the customizability present in the My Team game mode.
I just hope the developers build on the success of the My Team mode and create an amazing management simulator worthy of being nicknamed as one of the best there is.
Madden NFL 23
Sports fans, I’ve got another one just for you. Madden NFL 23 is releasing on August 20.
The American football experience is coming back for another year. In 2023’s edition, John Madden is being featured as the cover star, in honor of his death on December 28, 2021.
Madden NFL is one of the classic sports franchises in the gaming world. If you are into sports, then you have to try last year’s experience, as a reminder of what’s to come. Madden NFL 22 is a clear step-up from its predecessor, with improvements to every bit of gameplay found in the game.
Madden NFL 23 may just turn out to be the best entry in the Madden series if the developers follow the path that the 2022 version started carving. For those reasons, Madden NFL 23 deserves a spot in my selection of major game releases coming in August 2022.
Saints Row
Last but not least, we’ve got Saints Row, releasing on August 23.
This reboot of the original Saints Row franchise takes place in the city of Santo Ileso. The narrative of the game follows The Saints, a new gang that is attempting to take control of the city from other criminal organizations.
Yet again, another legendary series. Every gamer knows Saints Row. Its name alone is mythical. The amount of fun one can have in this open-world universe is unlimited. For me, Saints Row IV was the best entry in the franchise. It had everything. Smooth gameplay, exciting storyline, and unprecedented game design.
When this reboot was announced I was stoked. The trailer is simply amazing. It shows everything I want to see from a Saints Row game. And because of that, I chose to include Saints Row in this list of major game releases coming in August 2022.
Another monthly selection is finished. This one was special. So many great games for us to enjoy.
