With Halloween officially behind us, we head into November, and although there aren’t nearly as many horror movies as in October, there are still some interesting films for those who didn’t have their fill. November sees incredible filmmakers behind many of the films listed below. From newcomers like Angela Gulner to legendary filmmaker Guillermo del Toro. This month might not be as scary as the last, but the quality of these horror films is something to get excited about.

5. The Carpenter’s Son
| Release Date | November 14th |
| Director | Lofty Nathan |
| Main Cast | Nicolas Cage, Noah Jupe, FKA twigs |
| Duration | 99 minutes |
Synopsis
A boy hiding in Egypt faces natural and divine horrors as he begins to use his powerful abilities.
Overview
There is so much to say about The Carpenter’s Son. It’s basically a horror movie involving Jesus. Just don’t look at reviews online. It’s already getting bombarded with negative reviews for its controversial subject matter. For those who don’t care about the religious aspect of the film, they might either have a hit on their hand…and if not that, they will definitely be able to see Nicolas Cage crash out at least once. The trailer already showed a scene where he looks as though he’s going through it. I can’t tell one way or another how this will turn out, but it seems like a fun time nonetheless.
4. The Beldham
| Release Date | November 7th |
| Director | Angela Gulner |
| Main Cast | Patricia Heaton, Katie Parker, Emma Fitzpatrick |
| Duration | 85 minutes |
Synposis
A mother fights off a generations-old presence residing in the family’s home, threatening her life and the life of her infant child.
Overview
The Beldham looks like a classic haunted house story, and I’m here for it. It’s a film coming from first-time director Angela Gulner. As a result, it’s hard to know what to expect from this film, but judging from the trailer and the positive word of mouth, it seems as though it’s going to be an unnerving and scary time.
3. Keeper
| Release Date | November 14th |
| Director | Osgood Perkins |
| Main Cast | Tatiana Maslany, Rossif Sutherland, Claire Friesen |
| Duration | 99 minutes |
Synopsis
What was supposed to be a romantic getaway spirals into a horrific experience as the couple is forced to confront a sinister presence.
Overview
Keeper might not be the biggest film on this list, and depending on how you liked Osgood Perkins’ previous films, you might either like this film or dislike it. Personally, I really liked Longlegs despite its shortcomings, and I loved The Monkey. I’m not sure how, but this director is pumping out films each year. Keeper seems to be quietly dropping in November, so I’m curious to see how it pans out. The trailer for Keeper looks incredibly scary. And what’s cool is that the trailer for the film showcased a bunch of quotes from other horror directors who seem to really enjoy this movie. I can’t wait to see this film.
2. Predator: Badlands
| Release Date | November 7th |
| Director | Dan Trachtenberg |
| Main Cast | Elle Fanning, Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi |
| Duration | 107 minutes |
Synopsis
A young and outcasted Predator teams up with an unlikely ally in the search for an ultimate foe.
Overview
I’m not entirely sure what to expect from this one. But the more I see of it, the more I’m interested. Predator: Badlands isn’t a straight-up horror movie, so I’m not expecting a whole lot of scares. Still, it’s sure to mix some horror elements with action. Additionally, the director of this film, Dan Trachtenberg, is the same person who directed Prey a few years ago. I quite enjoyed that film, and someone who is able to bring the Predator franchise back from the dead is someone to look out for in my books. Hopefully, his streak continues with Predator: Badlands.
1. Frankenstein (Netflix)
| Release Date | November 7th |
| Director | Guillermo del Toro |
| Main Cast | Oscar Issac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth |
| Duration | 149 minutes |
Synopsis
A scientist brings a creature to life, ultimately leading to the destruction of himself and his own creation.
Overview
I mean, come on, a new movie from Guillermo Del Toro? Even non-horror fans recognize him as someone responsible for creating some of the most imaginative films. Technically, Frankenstein had a limited release last month in theaters, but it wasn’t included on our list, and it’s coming to Netflix this month (where most people will watch it), so we’re including it this month! This probably won’t be the scariest movie releasing this month, but I’d be surprised if it isn’t the most well-received.
