Horror and the ocean go hand-in-hand, and the ominous combination appears once more in Crabmeat.
In Crabmeat, you play as a prisoner paying off your debts by crabbing in the Antarctic ocean. As you endeavour to fulfil your quota within the 7 day time limit, you must manage your complex crabbing vessel alone. And naturally, king crabs won’t be the only creature lurking in the unknown depths below.
You can get a taste of Crabmeat early with a demo available now on Steam.

Unsealed: The Mare places you in the tortured mind of Vera, caught in a nightmare reality shaped by the trauma of her family’s past.
Throughout the three chapters, you will discover more of the family’s tragic history, while listening out for audio cues from unwelcome members of the household. Vera must use her ‘focus memory’ to reveal hidden messages in the cluttered hallways and use everyday items such as your flashlight, lighter and camera as your only line of defence against the distorted memories.
You can explore the creepy house early with a demo available now on Steam.
3. John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando
| Release | 12th March |
| Price | From £34.99 ($39.00) |
| Developer | Saber Interactive |
| Publisher | Focus Entertainment |
| Platform | PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S |
| Subgenre | FPS, Zombies, PvE |
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is a collab between developers Saber Interactive and legendary horror film director John Carpenter – just in case the title didn’t give that away. A FPS looter shooter which can be played in single player or a squad of four, you and your squad have been hired to put a stop to a failed science experiment.
Most likely with some cheesy comedy along the way, use an arsenal of weapons and vehicles to destroy the Sludge God and its army of undead. Working together is crucial for survival against the bizarre eldritch entity.
4. Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake
| Release | 12th March |
| Price | From £44.99 ($49.99) |
| Developer | Koei Tecmo Games |
| Publisher | Koei Tecmo Games |
| Platform | PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S |
| Subgenre | Survival Horror, Supernatural, Female Protagonist |
Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is the next in the Fatal Frame series to receive the makeover treatment. You can expect all the usual features that come with a complete remake; a graphics and audio overhaul, enhancing the recreated Minakami Village to be more ominous than ever, as well as improved and developed gameplay.
Of course, the iconic ‘Camera Obscura’ mechanic returns – a camera which allows you to capture and combat the supernatural, with features such as zooming and switching filters which have different functions for you to utilise throughout the game. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake will also introduce new areas and side stories to explore, so even the narrative will be fresh for returning players.
5. Project Songbird
| Release | 27th March |
| Price | TBC |
| Developer | FYRE Games |
| Publisher | FYRE Games |
| Platform | PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S |
| Subgenre | Psychological Horror, Survival Horror, Cinematic |
Project Songbird is described in an interview with Bloody Disgusting as a narrative-driven horror game with a mix of influences ranging from Firewatch and What Remains of Edith Finch to darker, more cinematic inspirations in Robert Eggers and David Lynch.
In Project Songbird, you play as a musician who retires to an isolated cabin in the Appalachian forest to record their next album, and the rest of the story remains a mystery until release.
That said, Project Songbird promises a stacked voice cast, including the voice of Edith Finch herself, sure to make whatever events follow an immersive cinematic experience, with some combat elements along the way.
