Wednesdays Goes Free in Honor of World Children’s Day

Wednesdays, the reflective indie narrative game designed to raise awareness around children’s rights, trauma, and wellbeing, is now free for a limited time from Nov 19th (9PM PST) to Nov 21st (12PM PST) in celebration of World Children’s Day. The story-driven title tackles sensitive but essential themes, including healing from incest and domestic violence against children.

Beyond the free promotion, the team behind Wednesdays is using this moment to spotlight the real-world issues at the heart of the game and remind players why stories about children’s rights and protection still matter today.

A Game Created With a Purpose

Developed specifically to support awareness efforts for Universal Children’s Day, Wednesdays explores the emotional realities of childhood trauma through a short, impactful narrative. This year’s release also aligns with the 36th anniversary of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, which affirms every child’s right to be protected from physical and psychological harm.

The studio notes that while the Convention is widely recognized, many children worldwide still lack the protection it promises—an issue the game seeks to address through storytelling and education.

“(…) We received dozens of messages from survivors telling us Wednesdays helped them better understand what happened to them, gave them the strength to speak up, and hope for the future.”

Developers Share Their Aim

According to the team, making the game free is a deliberate effort to increase accessibility and broaden its impact. Raising awareness means ensuring that people not only encounter the game, but also understand its purpose and the issues it highlights.

“With this game we hoped to raise awareness about the topic and maybe help other survivors on their path to healing.”

The developers emphasize that visibility is crucial: sharing the game on social platforms meaningfully supports survivors and helps spread the game’s educational mission.

We got to play the game at its release, and as you can see on our review, we praised its emotional storytelling and sensitive approach to the subject.

A Brief but Meaningful Experience

Wednesdays blends visual novel storytelling with graphic-novel style to deliver a poignant narrative about trauma, survival, and reclaiming one’s voice. Through player choices, the game highlights the small but powerful moments that define a child’s week—showing how seemingly ordinary events can carry profound emotional impact.

How Long Is It Free?

The game is free from Nov 19th (9PM PST) to Nov 21st (12PM PST). Anyone who claims it during this period will keep it permanently. The two-day window ensures players in every time zone can participate.

If you’re looking for a meaningful indie experience—or wish to support a project dedicated to raising awareness of child abuse and advocating for children’s rights—now is the perfect time to discover Wednesdays.
