Pokémon Champions – Successor to Pokémon Stadium
At the Pokémon Presents, it was confirmed that a new Pokémon game is being developed for the Nintendo Switch console family and mobile devices. This title will focus on battles, offering an similar experience to Pokémon Stadium or Pokémon Battle Revolution.
The development is handled by Pokémon Works, a subsidiary founded by Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures, with Game Freak overseeing the project.
Similarly to Pokémon Stadium and Battle Revolution, the game will feature a roster of available Pokémon, although it is designed to be played with our own Pokémon thanks to its connection with Pokémon Home.
Pokémon in Latin Spanish
The Regional Director for Latin America at The Pokémon Company, Tomás Cortijo, appeared in the Pokémon Presents to share that Pokémon Champions will be the first of many games to feature a Latin American Spanish adaptation.
Additionally, he confirmed that Pokémon Legends: Z-A will also have this option and that, for the first time, Pokémon TCG cards will be printed in Latin American Spanish.
Updates on Pokémon Legends: Z-A
The Pokémon Presents on February 27, 2025 brought announcements such as the new Pokémon Champions, gameplay for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and events for current games. Check out our summary with all the details about the new games, updates, and special content.
The trailer shows a more refined technical aspect compared to Pokémon Legends: Arceus, though not reaching the level of the more visually ambitious titles on the console. More of Lumiose City was shown, completely redesigned to adapt to the new gameplay style and what appears to be a parkour system.
Rumors pointed to announcements such as remakes of Pokémon Black & White or a collection of classic games, but none of these predictions came true.
With Nintendo’s new generation of consoles on the horizon, it was expected that there would be few novelties. However, the Pokémon Presents of February 2025 has been one of the weakest in terms of major announcements.
