Sengoku Dynasty Kintsugi Update Overview

Sengoku Dynasty is a game that revolves around building your dynasty, and crafting tools and buildings while also recruiting talents and villagers to boost your communities. The developer, Superkami, has recently released the Kintsugi Update which brings many improvements to the game.

Sengoku Dynasty Kintsugi Update OverviewSengoku Dynasty is a simulation slash RPG game from the developer Superkami, who released the game in August 2023 in an Early Access state. Since then, the developers have shown love and given plentiful updates, most of them are either the much-needed performance boosts or the additional content to make Sengoku Dynasty a better and more expansive game than ever.

And now, the game receives its biggest update yet, which dropped earlier on March 12, 2024, titled Kintsugi Update. There is a lot to pack here, ranging from performance boost, improved onboarding, and a new progression system, which we will discuss down the line. Let’s begin.

Sengoku Dynasty is available on Steam for $15.99. If you want to look at our preview for the game, you can check it out here at KeenGamer with this link.

Better Performance & Onboarding System

The first updates for Sengoku Dynasty within the Kintsugi Update are better performances and a new onboarding system for all players.

According to the developers, Sengoku Dynasty is now run on Unreal Engine 5.3, an upgrade over the previous engine with several benefits, including but not limited to shorter loading times, better compatibility with most graphic cards and processors, fewer crashes from booting up the game, and better framerates if you use FSR and DLLS settings.

Although it’s not perfect as there are still some issues that Superkami needs to iron out, the obvious ones being the heavy RAM usage, the improved loading times are very much welcomed to help every player able to boot up their game sessions quicker, prompting less frustration due to the long waiting time.

Another available design update is the onboarding system overhaul, which aims to improve players’ freedom in building their unique dynasties by giving the players more accessible building costs, improving sleeping spaces for the villagers, and the ability to skip all quests – instead of mandatory, it’s now fully optional that provides bonus Dynasty XP.

Gameplay Improvements

The next set of updates that will grace Sengoku Dynasty comes from its gameplay improvements, notably the new progression system and the daily production.

According to Superkami, we now have new avenues to progress with the game, which we will quote here:

For a true sense of progression and growth, the new system of unlocking recipes will reward you for exploration, finding new resources, getting new items, or reaching village-size milestones.

What this means for the players is that instead of having to do specific Quests, the progression will come from other sources such as gaining Dynasty levels, acquiring new items, building new structures, and/or buying recipes from a trader.

In addition to that, the daily production system also receives an overhaul with the release of the Kintsugi Update. With the new system, we can now receive supplies from our villagers every day at 18:00 in-game clock, thus allowing us to figure out our contingency plan better in case something happens within our villages. Moreover, with this overhaul, Sengoku Dynasty‘s dreaded workers AI will finally receive the much-needed improvement to make them more responsive and behave more realistically.
