Runa's Kickstarter Campaign Ends with a Bang - Here are the Stretch Goals Met

Runa is a game highly inspired by games like Persona and Xenoblade Chronicles. The game takes the vast explorable worlds of Xenoblade and combines them with more of the social link and relationship aspects seen throughout the Persona franchise.

Originally, the game devs were looking for crowdfunding around $48,000. Runa has successfully raised $380,414. The game is still accepting late pledges as well on Kickstarter. The game devs making the promise that any extra money will go towards extra polishing.

After reaching their crowdfunded goal, the team started tackling the stretch goals. The first thing promised to be added to Runa is a fishing Minigame. Besides the fishing minigame, Runa accomplished multiple stretch goals, which include farming & cooking minigames.

New Characters

After completing the most significant part, the fishing minigame, Runa’s team announced that Runa’s devs would be including more Key Characters in the game. Releasing imagery of the new key characters was added after reaching over $95,000.

Location New & Old

Several locations and information about the world have been showcased throughout Runa’s Kickstarter. Runa is set in the fictional world of Akasha, a land where the powers of an ancient civilization called Runas were left behind. Now, only some of Akasha’s residents, known as Adepts, can unlock the full powers of the Runas.

With the game reaching its crowdfunding goals, Akasha has gotten even bigger because of various extra places being added thanks to backers meeting the stretch goals. The game dev’s promising a new secret location: the antique shop.

Besides the antique shop, another stretch goal reached was New Dungeon Maps.

And More

Coming later in the stretch goals, Runa made the promise of involvement from Emi Evans as a guest vocalist. Emi Evans is an English singer, who has most notably worked on the NieR series. With a guest vocalist like Emi Evans, it does make you curious who Runa’s devs will choose to voice the characters.

Sadly, Animated Cutscenes weren’t reached during the campaign, but the game devs have given a sliver of hope. The game devs saying they still might be able to implement, the campaign not being the studio-only source of funding.

If any of these locations or characters sound interesting to you, go wishlist Runa on Steam; it’s one of the best things you can do to support a game.
