After years of guessing and speculation, Rockstar Games finally let the trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 out of the gate in December 2023. The final few moments of the footage teased a 2025 launch window, but did not specify which part of the year the game would hit store shelves. But, such a cloudy situation was not going to stop GTA faithfuls from airing their views. From the look of things, discussions spurred by a job ad suggest that this guessing game isn’t coming to an end anytime soon.
Well, this weekend, a user named TwistLT on Reddit brought another new job opportunity to everybody’s attention. The job is at Rockstar Lincoln, a North Hykeham-based satellite in the UK. The advertisement is for a position in Russian localization, specifically a temporary contract lasting for a period of 12 months.
Evidently, the GTA 6 role will require contractors to “Perform localization QA to ensure the final product quality is as high as possible.” The wording here would be pertinent; the users guess that the studio wouldn’t have hired a language tester only to have to let them go by March 2025 if the game was on track for later that year. This means that the logical release window for GTA 6 would be early 2025.
Rockstar localisation job position might suggest that GTA VI will be released in the next 12 months.

Of course, all of this should be taken with a grain of salt at this point. Way further out, past 2025, Rockstar and its parent company Take-Two have yet to nail down a firm date for the GTA 6 release window.
In the end, it’s far from clear when the two plan on sharing game details in general, but Grand Theft Auto fans hope new information will surface soon enough.
