The successful theme park management simulation game Planet Coaster is finally getting a sequel. With the original game released in 2016, the sequel is happening after 8 years. Frontier Developments announced the news through releasing an announcement trailer. The pre-alpha engine footage promises waterslides and also shows guests floating around in a pool. In addition, Planet Coaster 2 players can expect water parks and attractions to be part of the sequel.
The announcement trailer isn’t the only release related to the upcoming game. On July 31st, players can expect to get a first look at the gameplay. The sequel will be welcomed by fans of the original game which is considered as one of the best theme park management games.
With Planet Coaster 2 being announced, features added to the upcoming game have been revealed as well. There will be lazy rivers, water coasters, wave pools, changing rooms, sunbeds, plazas, and lifeguards. “Push the boundaries of creativity with brand new rides, refreshed favourites, exciting themes, and a cast of wonderful mascots that will leave your guests shouting for more!” are the words published on the official Planet Coaster website.
Indeed, players will get to be creative with the piece-by-piece construction and building tools. Planet Coaster 2 will also include a new event sequencer tool which players can use to create animatronics.

More Features in Planet Coaster 2
There are more features and additions in Planet Coaster 2. For starters, there will be four new themes aside from the original Planet Coaster theme. These will be Viking Theme, Resort Theme, Aquatic Theme, and Mythology Theme. Players will also become more involved in the management of their parks. In Planet Coaster 2, players can look after the well-being of their guests through different ways including sunscreen and hiring lifeguards.
It was also announced that a new heat map tool is part of Planet Coaster 2. This new tool helps players know the areas that need improvement in the park and what issues they are facing. When players select guests, they can read what guests think about the park.
Planet Coaster 2 will allow players to build with their friends or other players in general across different platforms; this will be one-at-a-time on a shared save file. They can also visit and experience parks built by other managers. Another feature that allows players to interact with each other is how they would be able to upload their parks or the blueprints for others to download through the Frontier Workshop.
Three modes will be available in the sequel including Career mode, Franchise mode, and Sandbox mode. Now that Planet Coaster 2 is happening, players can start adding the game to their wishlist on PC (through Steam or Epic Games), Xbox X|S, and PlayStation 5.
