No Rest for the Wicked’s First Hotfix Tackles Item Durability, Stamina, And More (Hotfix 1 Patch Notes)

No Rest for the Wicked, the new dark and stylized ARPG from Ori and the Blind Forest developer Moon Studios, has just released its first hotfix, which has arrived a little under a day since the game entered early access. This update aims to fix issues with item durability, repair costs, stamina consumption, fall damage, and a myriad of other changes.

No Rest for the Wicked's First Hotfix Tackles Item Durability, Stamina, And More (Hotfix 1 Patch Notes)Moon Studios’ new ARPG No Rest For the Wicked has only been in early access for a little over a day but it’s already received its first hotfix. This first set of changes and improvements is primarily aimed at improving balance and quality of life, with a specific focus on reducing a lot of the game’s more abrasive elements.

The most significant and impactful changes Moon Studios has made are the updates to Equipment Durability and Repair Costs. Before this hotfix, equipment in No Rest For the Wicked eroded incredibly quickly, especially upon death. This would force you to make constant trips back to Sacrament or Filmore to have them repaired: however, this only brought about yet another issue as repair costs were usually extortionately high, costing far more than most players would have at hand. Now, with these updated Durability changes as well an increased drop rate in Repair Powders – special consumables which instantly restore your equipped item’s durability – players should be able to keep exploring Sacra undeterred for much longer.

Other useful improvements include a reduction in the amount of Horseshoe Crabs needed to cook early-game food items (allowing players easier access to healing early on in their adventure), an increase in when fall damage should trigger, and a change in the rarity tier weapon dropped by the first major boss. Previously, the Corspe-Smeared Blade dropped by the first Torn boss had a Strength requirement of 22, a mighty high prerequisite that most players wouldn’t have been able to reach for quite some time, with the weapon having a more fitting 11 Strength Requirement, instead.
