It’s been almost a month since the release of Marvel Rivals and today the first bits of news about Season 1 have rolled out across social media, revealing the release date and time for the Season 1 trailer as well as an official look at the Fantastic Four, the next Heroes set to join the roster. According to a new post from the Marvel Rivals Twitter account, we’ll get to see our first proper look at Season 1 in a new trailer which drops on January 6th.

Alongside the trailer announcement, Marvel Rivals also dropped a new piece of key art revealing the official designs for the Fantastic Four. All four members of the team – Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), Ben Grimm (The Thing), Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), and Sue Storm (The Invisible Woman) – are seen flying high above the New York skyline in the Fantasticar accompanied by the robotic helper Herbie. All of their suits follow the same striking white and blue design philosophy.

As for what roles the Fantastic Four could embody, The Thing and the Human Torch are easy shoe-ins for the Vanguard (Tank) and Duelist (DPS) roles, respectively. Meanwhile, the Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic both have a wide variety of abilities that can place them in almost any category. Sue has access to both her iconic invisibility powers as well as protective forcefields, meaning that she could be a Strategist or a Vanguard. Similarly, Reed’s elasticity means he has almost limitless potential so he could fit comfortably into any of three available roles in Marvel Rivals

In addition to the Fantastic Four, the new social media post also specifically points out that they’re in New York. According to lore snippets from Spider-Man and Cloak and Dagger, New York is currently under siege from a legion of vampire thralls loyal to Dracula, something we can see in the key art from the droves of flying bats and the blood-red moon. This vampiric version of New York will likely arrive as a new map during Season 1.

The Fantastic Four are set to join Marvel Rivals as new Heroes when Season 1 launches around January 10th 2025. Meanwhile, the first trailer for Season 1, which should include a look at the Fantastic Four and their various abilities, will go live on January 6th.
