GTA VI Has Been Delayed With New Release Date of November 19, 2026

Grand Theft Auto VI has been delayed again with a new release date now set for November 19, 2026. This announcement was made by Rockstar Games in a statement on November 6th, commenting that they needed extra time to get the game where it needs to be.

GTA VI Has Been Delayed With New Release Date of November 19, 2026

Grand Theft Auto VI is the next highly-anticipated entry in the edgy open-world action-adventure series, but eager fans will have to wait a bit longer before they can dive into the fictional state of Leonida and return to Vice City with newcomers Lucia and Jason. It has just been announced officially by Rockstar Games that GTA VI will now be releasing on November 19, 2026 instead of the previously set date May 26.

Why Has GTA VI Been Delayed Again?

GTA VI was previously delayed earlier this year, then with a new release date of May 26, 2026. However, that is now old news as a brand-new release date has been set for November 19, about an extra six months to the original date.

The reason given for the latest pushback is that Rockstar Games felt that needed these additional extra months to give GTA VI the level of polish expected with such a highly-anticipated title. Given Rockstars’ huge successes with their games over the years and their high standard of quality in gameplay, performance, and graphics, this announcement, while of course disappointing, is understandable.

Having the release date set back from May to November does at least mean that, at least for the moment, GTA VI will still be releasing next year, almost a year from now, and in time for Christmas.

What Do We Know About GTA VI So Far?

GTA VI will be the latest entry in the hugely successful Grand Theft Auto series, following the release of GTA V in 2013, which to this day continues to have new content released for its online gameplay.

GTA VI is currently set to be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. You can now Wishlist GTA VI on both consoles. No PC version has been announced yet.

GTA VI will be set in Vice City, USA, which marks a return to this location since the titular game in GTA. Vice City is located in the state of Leonida, the fictional counterpart to Florida. Vice City is home to thriving urban life, sprawling grasslands, and a majestic national park.

In GTA VI, there will be two characters you can control: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. After an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the dark side of the sunniest place in America, in a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida. The pair will have to rely on each other to get out of it alive.
