After a poor launch that didn’t meet expectations, Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is being delisted. The game will be removed from storefronts and the servers will go offline by February 24, 2025. This isn’t a surprise, especially since the game didn’t garner enough success since it was released three years ago. Now, players can still play the game if they own it, but only in offline single-player.
The news of Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance being delisted was shared on the game’s Steam page. Now, the “about the game” section includes a note sharing the future of the game. “We will be shutting down (shut down) the Dark Alliance servers on 2/24/2025 and it will no longer be available to purchase starting that day. The base game and all DLC are still available to play in offline single player by anyone who currently owns it,” the note reads.
What’s Next After Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance Getting Delisted
The news doesn’t come across as a surprise. After its launch, the game was met with criticism rather than praise. Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance’s reviews on Steam sits at mixed. Despite this, Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance getting delisted isn’t the end for D&D games. The game’s developer, Invoke Studios which is formerly known as Tuque Games, is already working on a new Dungeons and Dragons game.
In our review of Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, we found it a fitting description to describe the game as “an undercooked cauldron of lore.” What happened with Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance might not affect people’s excitement to try D&D games. After all, other D&D titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3 have found huge success. Even today, Baldur’s Gate 3 still receives players despite being released in 2023. Still, players have until next year to purchase Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance before it gets removed forever.
