Arc Raiders Patch Notes 1.20.0 – Big Il Toro Nerf, and New Skins

ARC Raiders update 1.20.0 hits hard with sweeping balance changes, gutting Il Toro’s power and shutting down one of the easiest money farms. The meta is shifting fast, and close-range fights won’t play out the same anymore.

ARC Raiders patch 1.20.0 focuses almost entirely on PvP balance changes, with one weapon and one economy exploit taking the biggest hits. While the patch doesn’t introduce major new content, it significantly reshapes how players approach both PvP and farming.

1. Il Toro Nerf Hits Every Stat

Il Toro IV

Il Toro IV

The Il Toro has been heavily reworked to reduce its dominance across multiple scenarios. It now performs closer to its intended Uncommon rarity, with a stronger reliance on positioning and upgrades rather than raw baseline power. These are the key stat changes affecting the weapon:

  • Pellet damage reduced from 7.5 to 7
  • Fire rate reduced from 43 to 38
  • Dispersion increased from 4.5 to 6
  • Total reload time increased from 4.3s to 5.7s
  • Looping reload entry increased from 0.8s to 1s
  • Looping reload time increased from 0.5s to 0.7s
  • Damage falloff increased from 40% to 50%

The weapon now deals less damage, fires slower, spreads more, and reloads significantly slower. For Example, Blue Shields now take 3 full hits, which used to be 2 hits with Il Toro and were somewhat annoying for doing similar damage to a Light Shield.

1.1. What the Toro Nerf Means in Practice?

The stat changes translate directly into longer time-to-kill in real fights, especially against shields. A clear example is how the weapon now interacts with defenses:

  • Blue Shields now require 3 full hits to break
  • Previously, Il Toro could destroy them in just 2 shots
  • This puts them closer in durability to Light Shields in practical encounters

This shift removes one of Il Toro’s biggest advantages in close-range engagements. Fights that previously ended in two quick shots now demand an extra hit, giving opponents more time to react, reposition, or trade damage.

1.2. Il Toro Nerf Stats Breakdown

A simplified breakdown of the impact looks like this:

  • ~9% damage reduction
  • ~12% fire rate reduction
  • ~33% accuracy loss
  • ~33% slower reload
  • ~17% reduced effectiveness at range

2. Energy Clip Farming Nerfed

The patch also targets a popular money-making loop tied to Energy Clips. Players were repeatedly farming the Harvester events and selling the magazine for large profits. That strategy has now been shut down with a massive value reduction: Sell price reduced from 1000 coins to 200 coins.

This 80% cut brings Energy Clips in line with other crafting materials and significantly slows down currency farming through this method.

3. New Cosmetics in the Store

Alongside the balance changes, update 1.20.0 adds a small batch of cosmetic items. The new additions include:

  • Rawhide Outfit set (1,200 coins, includes multiple color variants and gear pieces)
  • Curtain Fade hairstyle (400 coins)
  • Low Bun hairstyle (400 coins)

These additions are purely cosmetic and available through the in-game shop.

4. Fixes and Minor Improvements

Several technical issues have also been addressed in this update, improving overall stability and map behavior. Notable fixes include:

  • Persistent audio bug from destroyed Comets and Fireballs resolved
  • Players no longer get pushed through walls in the Dam Controlled Access Zone
  • Collision issues fixed near the Spaceport elevator and pipe areas

5. Patch 1.20.0 Impact

Update 1.20.0 is a clear balance pass aimed at reducing dominant strategies. Il Toro’s versatility has been sharply reduced, while the Energy Clip economy adjustment closes off one of the fastest ways to generate currency.

With the Flashpoint expansion expected in the coming weeks, this patch sets the groundwork for a more controlled PvP meta heading into the next major content drop.
