Absolum brings together acclaimed developers to deliver a fresh take on the side-scrolling beat ’em up, fusing dynamic combat with modern roguelite elements. The latest reveal spotlights Cider, a nimble rogue who joins the diverse cast of heroes in the fight to restore magic to the world of Talamh.
Story and Setting
The world of Talamh has been left fractured after a disastrous magical cataclysm. In the aftermath, Sun King Azra seizes control by enslaving wizards and installing his loyal princes over conquered kingdoms. As Azra’s regime expands, a resistance led by high enchantress Uchawi rises, wielding forbidden magic against his oppressive rule.
Players encounter a range of outcast heroes, each with their own unique abilities and motivations. Among them are Galandra, with her devastating sword and necromantic powers, and Karl, the last free dwarf, skilled in close-quarters combat. The rebellion grows as Brome, a wizard prodigy, and Cider, a mysterious fusion of human and construct, join their ranks.
