Forza Horizon 5 is coming to PlayStation 5, marking a historic event: one of Xbox’s flagship titles is debuting on Sony’s console. Its announcement caused a great stir within the community, and now we finally know when you’ll be able to pre-download the game and how much space it will take up, including its additional content.

The official release of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 will be on April 29, 2025, with early access starting on April 25 for those who purchase the Premium Edition. This early access allows players to start exploring the landscapes of Mexico before anyone else. The pre-download dates, depending on the edition, are as follows:
- Standard Edition: April 27, 2025
- Premium Edition: April 23, 2025

The required space on PS5 is slightly smaller than its counterpart on Xbox, thanks to the use of the Kraken compression system and the way PlayStation manages installation packages. Here are the details:
- Base game: 131.922 GB
- Hot Wheels DLC: 9.474 GB
- Rally Adventure DLC: 15.489 GB
Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 will arrive in its version 01.683.563, which includes all patches and improvements previously released on Xbox and PC, ensuring a complete experience from day one. The game will continue running at 60 frames per second and will take advantage of features such as reduced loading times and haptic feedback through the DualSense.
Additionally, it will be mandatory to create and link a Microsoft account to your PlayStation account in order to play. This integration will allow access to features such as cross-platform progression and the use of services like Forza Link.
