Treasure Seeker is an invaluable skill you can learn in Where Winds Meet. This passive will mark the treasure that is closest to you on your map at any given time. However, it could be hard to locate the Skill on your menu and know how to even unlock it. This guide will go over where to find the Treasure Seeker skill and everything you can do to unlock it.
1. How to Find and Unlock Treasure Seeker
The Treasure Seeker Skill is in the Develop menu. Finding the Skill will show what stats are required to unlock it, but once you reach the thresholds, Treasure Seeker will be unlocked automatically.
- Menu Location – Develop > Details > Exploration icon (looks like a shovel and pick together) > Exploration Skills
- Requirements to Learn – 600 Total Aspiration Attributes, 75 Perception, and 75 Elegance
- Unlocks Automatically – Once you have all of the required Attributes, Treasure Seeker will be learned and equipped automatically.
2. How to Raise Your Aspiration Attributes
Your Total Aspiration Attributes are the sum of all of your stats associated with Exploration. As Perception and Elegance are required to unlock Treasure Seeker, it’s best to focus on getting these two to 75 while working on the others when possible until you reach 600 total. Below are all of the associated stats and a summary of how to raise them.
- Resolve – Participating in the Pitch Pot and Madiao Cards minigames.
- Elegance – Buying and tasting food sold by certain vendors, and petting new cats that you meet.
- Perception – Completing certain Oddities and completing Archery Competitions.
- Coordination – Completing certain Oddities and learning new abilities.
- Intelligence – Participating in Gift of Gab debates and solving Riddles.
- Musicality – Completing certain Oddities and Graceful Melodies.
- Constitution – Clearing out Outposts for the first time and participating in Wrestling.
- Erudition – Following golden butterflies to Universal Harmonies and completing Meow Meow mode.
- Memory – Curing illnesses and completing Disguise modes.
- Mindset – Completing certain Oddities, completing Fishing Contests, and having a Spellbound condition cured.
- Ambition – Gained automatically from levelling up.
- Stats Location – Develop > Details > Exploration icon (looks like a shovel and pick together) > Exploration Skills
3. How to Raise Your Elegance
While increasing your Total Aspiration Points, one of the main stats you should focus on is Elegance. You need 75 of it to unlock Treasure Seeker. There are two ways to work on this: Gourmet Mode and Kitten Hunt.
3.1 What is Gourmet Mode?
Gourmet mode is simply trying out food that the various Stall Owners sell. Eating enough of the same food will quickly raise your Elegance, making this a more efficient way to raise the stat than Kitten Hunt. However, this method can cost a lot of Commerce Coins.
- Where to Find Stall Owners – Look for vendors in towns with a noodle/soup bowl icon above their heads.
- Purchase both Foods that They Offer – You need 8 of each food to get all of the Elegance points available.
- Cost of Food – To get all the copies you need, each food will cost either 120 or 400 Commerce Coins total.
- Eat the Food – Eating all 8 copies of the food will give you 3-4 Elegance, depending on the food.
- Track What You’ve Eaten – Go to the Cuisine section of the Compendium to see what foods you’ve eaten, and what rewards you’ve collected for each one.
3.2 What is Kitten Hunt?
To participate in Kitten Hunt, you need to pet any new cat that you encounter while exploring. Raising your Elegance this way costs nothing compared to Gourmet Mode, but this is a slower method to increase the stat.
- Finding Cats – Cats will not show up on the map, so keep an eye out for them while in towns.
- Pet Any that You See – When you encounter a cat, interact with it to pet it.
- Elegance Earned – You gain 1 Elegance when you meet and pet a cat for the first time.
- Track the Cats You’ve Met – The Beasts section of the Compendium shows you the cats you’ve pet, and how many you have left.
- Meow Meow Shrines – Search for Meow Meow Shrines, as they will have 4-5 cats close together to get points quickly.
You can find all the kitten and Food vendors on this Chinese map.
4. How to Raise Your Perception
The other stat you need to raise to 75 is Perception. The two ways to accomplish this are collecting specific Oddities and completing Archery Competitions, both of which require you to use your bow and arrow.
4.1 Which Oddities Raise Perception?
Three types of Oddities will raise Perception when collected — Whisper Hives, Enchanting Lotuses, and Heartsoothe Twigs. Since you can’t tell which Oddity you’ll encounter before reaching it, this can be a slower method to raise the stat. However, the other ones will help increase your Total Aspiration Points.
- How to Find Oddities – Look for black icons that resemble birds on the map.
- Collecting Whisper Hives – Shoot the hive with a flaming arrow, and you can collect it shortly after.
- Collecting Enchanting Lotuses – Shoot down the purple butterflies linked to it to grab it — use Wind Sense to find the butterflies easier.
- Collecting Heartsoothe Twigs – Hit the bird holding the twig with an arrow to make it drop.
- Perception Earned – You will get 1 Perception for each of these Oddities collected.
4.2 How to Complete Archery Competitions
Archery Competitions are minigames that can be found on the map. There are two types of competitions you can compete in, involving either quickly blowing up barrels or a test of who can hunt animals faster. While these are easier to find than the three Oddities, this method can take longer and be costly depending on your aim and speed.
- Find Competitions – Archery Competitions are found on the map, indicated by a target with an arrow in it.
- Two Competitions – To complete them, either destroy enough red barrels within a time limit or shoot more animals than your opponent.
- Cost to Participate – Red barrel Competitions cost 500 Coins per attempt, while animal Competitions are free.
- Perception Earned – You earn 1 Perception for getting Rank A in each Competition.
- One-Time Reward – The Perception point is only given the first time you achieve Rank A in each Competition.
Once you get these three stats high enough, Treasure Seeker will be learned automatically. Afterwards, the map will always show you the treasure that is closest to you, regardless of where it is.
