The home base system allows players to manage a personal plot of land and create a thriving business empire. You start with an empty plot, which you can gradually develop into a fully functional hub of production, housing, and management.
4.1 Key Facilities: Grow Your Production
Facilities are the backbone of your home base and determine the types of resources and income you can generate. Each facility serves a unique purpose, from producing commercial goods to providing beds for NPCs. Building and upgrading the right facilities first ensures that your home base becomes self-sustaining and highly productive.
- Ink Facility – Main source of income. Requires chefs and waiters to operate efficiently.
- Pottery Workshop – Produce bowls, cups, and other goods for sale or crafting.
- Wine-Making Facility – Manage production lines to create wine, maximizing output over time.
- Homes – Provide beds for NPCs so they can rest and work effectively.
- Farm Plots – Grow ingredients for your production facilities and boost efficiency.
Tips
- Start with income-generating facilities first to fund expansions.
- Assign enough NPCs to each facility to avoid production bottlenecks.
- Place homes close to facilities to reduce NPC travel time and improve productivity.
4.2 Benefits of Base Building System
Base Building in Where Winds Meet is not just a side activity for designing houses, but it has multiple layers and rewards you for leveling up your base.

- You can make a good amount of money by making your base a business with different facilities, like an Ink Facility for making coins.
- It helps with making farming easy with the Farm facility, where NPCs can do tasks like farming crops, mining, and lumberjacking. You can sell these later and use them in gear crafting.
- If you play in co-op, your friends can visit your house or base, and they can link up there. But if you’re a guild member online, then you can permit other guild members, and they can even help you with building your base.
- For online players, a guild base is a great way to store resources like gear and then share them with your teammates.
