Mystic Arts are special skills your character can learn and use throughout Where Winds Meet. In combat, they grant powerful effects like damage, crowd control, and buffs. Out of combat, they help with exploration and puzzles. The Offensive Mystic Arts are designed for use in combat and sometimes in exploration and puzzles.
You can equip up to eight of these at a time, and switch between rows depending on whether you’re focusing on combat or exploration.
Many Mystic Arts are unlocked by exploring the world, completing side-quests, or uncovering secrets. You’ll want to pick Mystic Arts that fit your playstyle and upgrade them.

2. How To Upgrade Mystic Arts
Mystic Arts in Where Winds Meet are upgraded in Tiers and Ranks. To rank up, you need Ebon Iron of different levels. You also need Mystic Art Breakthrough Materials from one tier to the next. Mystic Skills of Tier 1 can be upgraded to Rank 9. Afterward, it will be promoted to Tier 2 Rank 0. You can further upgrade it to Tier 4 Rank 9. For example, Flaming Meteor uses Buddha’s Tear Root, and Blinding Mist uses Vicious Fruit.
Steps to Upgrade Mystic Arts
Follow these steps to access your Mystic Arts and start upgrading their power and ranks.
- Open the main menu and go to Develop → Mystic Arts.
- Browse the Mystic Arts you have unlocked and review their available upgrade paths.
- Spend Breakthrough Materials such as Ebon Iron to increase their Tiers and Ranks.
Upgrade Material Requirements
Each Tier and Rank of a Mystic Art needs a specific level and amount of Ebon Iron to upgrade.
- Tier 1 (Rank 0–9): Lv. 1 Ebon Iron × 2 per rank
- Tier 2 (Rank 1–9): Lv. 2 Ebon Iron × 4 per rank
- Tier 3 (Rank 1–9): Lv. 3 Ebon Iron × 10 per rank
To advance from Tier 1 to Tier 2, you must use 5 of the relevant Breakthrough Material plus additional Ebon Iron depending on the current rank.
How to Find the Needed Resources for the Upgrade
- Open the upgrade screen for the gear or item you want to improve.
- Click on the required material in the list of upgrade resources.
- Check the panel that shows every location and method where that material can be obtained.
- Click on any listed location to open the world map.
- Look at the highlighted spots on the map to see exactly where you can farm or loot that resource.
