Where Winds Meet – All Free Outfits and How to Get Them

In Where Winds Meet, cosmetics and free outfits allow players to personalize their characters and express their unique style. From full outfit sets to hairstyles and accessories, many of these items can be earned through exploration, quests, events, or in-game banners, without spending real money.

Some outfits are rewards for completing story quests, sects leveling, profession milestones, or reaching certain exploration levels.

1. All Free Sets in Where Winds Meet

You can equip sets with essential pieces, such as accessories, to create a complete look for your character. Visit the available shops to acquire free outfits and hairstyles. You can also pull from the permanent banner for free by collecting Echo Jade through exploration and leveling up.

Some outfits may require sect currency from their respective sect shops, but they do not cost premium currency, allowing players to earn them entirely through gameplay.

2. Quest-Related Outfits

Some free outfits in Where Winds Meet can only be acquired by completing specific quests or achievements. These outfits are not tied to any particular set, giving players flexibility in mixing and matching. Additionally, many of these quest-related outfits can also be purchased from the Season Shop using in‑game currency.

3. Free Hairstyles in Where Winds Meet

You can unlock multiple hairstyles in Where Winds Meet, allowing you to mix and match between different outfits and hairstyles. Each hairstyle is separate from outfits — you can mix any hair with any outfit for full customization freedom. The game offers several hairstyles to choose from, but you can select only one during the character creation.

Make your way to the house south of the Blissful Retreat waypoint and comb your hair to obtain other free hairstyles.

4. How to Use & Manage Cosmetics

• Open the Main Menu: Press Esc (PC) or the menu button to open the game’s main system menu.
• Select Character → Appearance: Go into the Character section and choose Appearance. This is the dedicated menu where you manage all cosmetics, including outfits, hairstyles, accessories, dyes, and full character customization options.
• Enter the Wardrobe Tab: Inside the Appearance menu, open the Wardrobe. This shows every cosmetic slot available, such as outfit pieces, hairstyles, headwear, accessories, weapon skins, and visual effects.
• Equip Cosmetics: Choose the cosmetic slot you want to change and select any item you have unlocked. You can preview the item on your character and then equip it. 
• Use Outfit Presets: Within the Appearance menu, open the Preset or Outfit Plan section. Here you can save your current entire look into an empty preset slot. You can later load that preset to instantly switch your full appearance, including outfit pieces, hair, accessories, and dyes.
• Apply Dyes and Color Changes: Select an outfit or hairstyle inside Wardrobe and choose the Dye option if the item supports recoloring. Pick your preferred color and apply it. Some cosmetics allow multiple dyeable layers, letting you adjust more than one color area.

5. Tips for Collecting Cosmetics Efficiently

• Prioritize exploration and main/storyline quests: many outfits are tied to chapter progression, quests, or exploration milestones — you get cosmetics while playing the core game.
• Use the permanent banner smartly: since the “Solemn Echo” banner uses in‑game currency, save up your Echo Jade and pull when you can — high‑value outfits like Elegy of Petals, Return of Spring, etc., can be obtained free.
• Join a sect — sect‑based outfits (Midnight Blades, Silver Needle, etc.) become available once you join; they offer unique styles.
• Check shops & currencies — some outfits require social/shop currencies (e.g., Cosmetic Chests, sect/shop currency) — so don’t ignore social systems, profession rewards, or other non‑combat systems.
• Regularly visit the appearance mirror at Blissful Retreat — unlocking hairstyles is easy if you check every couple of in‑game days.

• Check outfit unlock requirements in‑game — the wardrobe menu shows how each outfit is obtained, so you don’t have to guess.
