2. Smart Currency Strategy: What to Prioritize

Battle Pass Coin

Battle Pass Coin

  • Always secure a base of Coins; it’s essential for all early and mid-game vending, crafting, and basic supplies.
  • Save Echo Jades and Jade Fish for crucial upgrades (Internal Arts), gear-related purchases, and cosmetics — they scale with long-term progression.
  • Cap out weekly currencies: Jade Fish (20K), Fourfold Coins, Harmony Coins, etc. — these resets reward regular players.
  • Use profession & social currencies (Hundred Trades Coins, Four Seas Letters, etc.) if you’re active in crafting/co-op — otherwise, these are optional bonus sources.
  • Only use Premium Currency (Pearls/Echo Beads) for convenience or cosplay — everything valuable can be earned via gameplay, given enough time.
  • Unlock and use Treasure Money after the Ghost Market if you aim for high-tier cosmetics or rare outfits without paying real money.

3. How to Unlock Ghostlight Market in Where Winds Meet

Ghost Market

Ghost Market

The Ghostlight Market is a hidden underground bazaar in Where Winds Meet, offering rare merchants, secret Inner‑Ways, unique items, and exclusive quests. You can unlock it by either entering the Coffin Shop in Kaifeng at night or completing the Bounty Trouble side‑quest. Once inside, activate the Boundary Stone to make it a permanent fast‑travel destination.

Note: Some vendors and content require wearing the Ghost Rat Mask given by an NPC when you first enter the Market. Without the mask, you can’t interact properly. Ghostlight Market can shift between a normal market and a “haunted/Nether‑Mist” mode during certain quests, like March of the Dead. In haunted mode, the area becomes dangerous — mist drains HP, Wind Sense is disabled, and ghosts are present.

3.1 Method 1: Coffin Shop Entry (after reaching Kaifeng)

Coffin Shop Kaifeng City

Coffin Shop Kaifeng City

  1. Progress the main story until you unlock the city of Kaifeng during Chapter 2, “New Arrival in Kaifeng”.
  2. Travel to the Forsaken Quarter — the dilapidated southeast district of Kaifeng City.
  3. Enter the Coffin Shop within that district.
  4. Change the in-game time to “Zi Hour” night — roughly between 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM in the game’s day-night cycle.
  5. Interact with the special coffin inside the shop — this triggers a cutscene and transports you to Mask Cave, the underground tunnel leading to Ghostlight Market.
  6. Once inside, follow the path forward to reach the main plaza.
  7. Activate the Boundary Stone / Fast-Travel point — this unlocks convenient access to the Ghostlight Market in future visits.

3.2 Method 2: Through the “Bounty Trouble” Side-Quest

If you haven’t yet unlocked Kaifeng or prefer a story-driven entry, you can take on the Bounty Trouble quest to get to the Ghost Market.

  1. Head to Riverside Station in Qinghe and look for the Bounty Board near the “Worldly Affairs” area. Accept the side-quest Bounty Trouble
  2. Progress through the quest — during the quest, you will be attacked, kidnapped, and transported to the Ghostlight Market underground (thus unlocking it early).
  3. After arrival, follow the objective markers (or a sequence of cutscenes during the related questline) to gain access.

3.3 Why Unlock Ghostlight Market

  • You can use Treasure money and buy items available in this market. This includes rare gear, special consumables, and unique inner way unlocks.
  • Once unlocked, it becomes a permanent fast-travel location via the activated boundary stone — no need to repeat the entry method.
  • The shop run by Ni Laoshan sells “Unknown Old Books,” which players can buy and sometimes receive pages needed to unlock the Inner Way Sword Horizon.
  • Several powerful skills, like the inner art Wolflike Frenzy, are locked behind chests inside Ghostlight Market.
