What Is the Trial of the Gods in Hades II? – Double Boon Rooms

The only thing better than getting a Boon in Hades II is getting two Boons for the price of one. But before you can reap the rewards of two Boons at once, you must complete the Trial of the Gods in a Double Boon Room. If you're wondering what the Trial of the Gods is and if it's worth the extra danger, you will find everything you need to know in this guide.

What Is the Trial of the Gods in Hades II - Double Boon Rooms

Boons are the name of the game in Hades II. Having a bad selection of Boons can make or break you, especially as you progress closer to Tartarus and the enemies become more challenging. In most cases, you can find Boons in rooms with a God’s emblem on the door. Some rooms, however, have two God emblems on them. These are Double Boon rooms.

Double Boon rooms work a little differently than regular Boon rooms. Instead of a run-of-the-mill encounter, you will be faced with the Trial of the Gods. Here, we will go over everything you need to know about Double Boon rooms so you know exactly what to expect when you cross the threshold.

What Are Double Boon Rooms in Hades 2?

Double Boon Rooms allow you to collect not one but two Boons at once. They do, however, come at a price.

Rather than walking into the room and facing a regular encounter, you will instead find two Boons lying on the floor. You must choose one  Boon to add to your current build.

The thing about Gods is that they all think rather highly of themselves, and they don’t like being rejected. The God you did not choose will take it personally and get violently offended. Thus begins the Trial of the Gods.

How to Complete the Trial of the Gods

The Trial of the Gods is a punishment of sorts from the scorned God, where you have to face waves of enemies while simultaneously dodging the God’s attacks. Thankfully, the Gods don’t appear personally in the arena to take you on. Instead, they unleash a series of attacks that deal area damage based on that God’s skill.

Zeus, for example, summons lightning. Hephaestus rains blasts down upon the arena, and Poseidon uses his water-based abilities to damage you throughout the encounter.

Thankfully, you can tell where the next God ability is going to hit by taking note of the circles on the ground in the arena. Make sure you are well clear of these circles when the attack hits to dodge them

Long-range weapons can be very helpful in these fights, and some quick dodging is required to emerge victorious.

Are Double Boon Rooms Worth It?

The Trial of the Gods makes Double Boon rooms far tougher than regular encounters. The prize, however, is valuable. If you’ve already got a flawless build that you don’t want to change, the Trial of the Gods is probably not worth it, and you’re better off collecting another reward instead, if possible.

But if you’re not happy with your current build and want to switch up your Boons, or you’ve got a couple of free slots, Double Boon rooms are well worth the extra danger.
