Throne and Liberty: Best Early Staff and Wand Build

This guide covers a powerful DoT build that leverages the Wand's curses and sleep effects to deliver massive AoE damage. Ideal for crowd control and farming mobs, it offers versatility in roles, allowing players to clear objectives easily, support teammates, or adopt a hybrid healer playstyle.

Throne and Liberty Best Staff and Wand Build

The best Staff build in Throne and Liberty is the Wand and Staff build as an Area of Effect (AoE) and Damage over Time (DoT). What makes this build stand out is its remarkable ability to cover vast areas and simultaneously deal consistent damage to multiple targets.

Whether you’re looking to breeze through challenging content or contribute effectively in team scenarios, this DoT-focused approach offers a balanced combination of offense, crowd control, and healing potential. Let’s break down the stats, skills, and gear that make this build shine!

Build Info

This DoT uses the Wand’s curse and sleep effect to deal incredible AoE damage for crowd control and taking on multiple targets at once. One main reason why this build is so extraordinary is how easily and how massive AoE it can deal with.

This will let you clear many objectives in the world with little to no difficulty. Not only this, but you can also use it to take a support role and deal damage while playing it safe or even assume a Hybrid Healer role, doing a little bit of both. Its versatility is an obvious giveaway of why this build is so awesome. Keep in mind that it is not an endgame build, it’s tailored more for the early to mid-game, as the game progresses the damage of this build falls off.

Stats

To truly make this the best Throne and Liberty staff build, below are the base stats recommended if you are opting for this build:

Stat Value
Strength 10
Dexterity 30
Wisdom 19
Perception 30

Note that 19 Wisdom is sufficient since Mana Regen is already good enough, so allocating more points here would be overkill. On the other hand, dexterity and perception are the main damage dealers here, so you should allocate more points for these stats.

Skills

The image below shows all the DoT abilities for the staff and the curses for the wand we have chosen for this build. The reason for this one is fairly obvious as we need as much area of effect and DoT as possible for dealing with multiple mobs at a time.

Passive skills like Asceticism further buff Mana Regen and increase DoT and curse effectiveness. With the specializations, you would want to cast curses that deal with DoT as fast as possible, so specializations like Instant Activation and Projectile Speed will come in super handy.

The image below shows all the skill specializations we have chosen for the staff. Judgment lighting skill not only hits like a truck but also has a huge crowd control potency, which is why it is a must-use for this build.

Essential Skills and their Specialization

Below are all the skills you need to have to get this AoE build going, including all of their specializations.

  1. Chain Thunder: Chain Thunder is an effective AoE spell because it can strike multiple targets in succession, dealing substantial damage and exploiting elemental status effects. Its damage transfer ensures efficient crowd control.
  2. Touch of despair: This strong debuff spell inflicts a stacking curse, dealing damage over time and boosting basic attack damage. The ability to increase debuff duration on fully stacked targets makes it versatile for prolonged fights.
  3. Swift Healing: This is a valuable support spell that restores significant health based on the caster’s damage output, with the ability to heal consecutively. It provides rapid recovery in emergencies, especially during intense battles.
  4. Serial Fire Bombs: This is an effective AoE spell due to its high damage output and burning effect that stacks up to 10 times. The ability to cast it multiple times rapidly increases its utility in controlling large groups of enemies and dealing sustained damage.

Gear

Moving on to the gear section, the best gear for this build hands down is a combination of the Transcended One and Shadow Harvester (death) set. This is due to their ability to significantly boost both cooldown and critical damage. However, if you do not have these sets available yet, a great alternative would be to use the Mother Nature set due to its passive which ”weakens duration”

As for the most important part of this build, the weapons, Toublelek’s Shattering Quarterstaff, and Lequirus’s Coveted Tome are peerless.

Pros and Cons

It is understood that every build has its ups and downs. Similarly, this build also has its fair share of unique pros and cons. Its most important pros are:

  1. Massive AoE damage
    • This makes it great for farming mobs.
  2. Strong CC (sleep)
  3. Great Mana Regen
  4. Good Healing capability

Moving on to its cons:

  1. Very low single-target damage
  2. Terrible against bosses
  3. Combos are a bit tricky and hard to execute

Skill Combos

Below are some of the skill combos you can utilize with this build, some of the skills are to be repeated before moving on to the next rotation. The below table shows a combo list to deal the maximum amount of AoE possible, with Serial Bomb Skill being repeated 3 times.

The Chain Thunder and Judgement Lightning is a deadly elemental status combo, not only dealing lightning damage but also significant AoE damage and crowd control.

Combo Step Skill

Time for Punishment
4 Touch
5
Cursed Nightmare
6 Karmic Haze

Below is a much easier combo list to master but deals lesser damage. We recommend starting learning this one first before moving on to the one listed above. Keep in mind this skill rotation doesn’t deal as much damage and is not ideal, since this is an early game build a simple skill combo step is a must-have.
