Stellar Blade is truly mesmerizing, both in terms of how the combat works and the environmental details that are available for all players to see within the game, though even the most veteran players should be wary of the enemies in Stellar Blade, as even the usual grunts can cut EVE’s journey short, thus forcing you to respawn at an earlier point of the mission or place.
Even the smallest enemies, such as the Creepers, can abruptly terminate your journey if you’re not fully prepared when confronting them. The Cricket Slasher, another type of foe, can be particularly irritating due to its unpredictable and random movements, which can cause a significant decrease in my Health Points. Nonetheless, your primary focus in Stellar Blade should be the most formidable opponents. As you navigate through the dangerous landscapes, from the initial location of Eidos 7 to the expansive Great Desert, be aware that every corner could potentially harbor challenging enemies and Bosses.
Today, our esteemed guest shall be Gigas, the very first Alpha Naytiba, the strongest variant of the Naytibas beside the Elder Naytiba, that we find in Stellar Blade. Gigas, as imposing as its name, is a super giant Naytiba that has a wheel-shaped head and two massive fists that are ready to pounce the players.
Bearing that in mind, this guide will help you masterfully defeat the first Alpha Naytiba that appears in Stellar Blade, Gigas, by understanding its attacking patterns, as well as learning the mechanism behind its twin fists, which are devastating and can kill your EVE incredibly quickly if you are not careful enough to Dodge or Parry them.

Who is Gigas?
As the first Alpha Naytiba and the cream of the crop among the species, Gigas will attempt to kill EVE during her initial adventures in Eidos 7, especially when EVE is attempting to save Lily, who remains trapped in her pod in the Crater area.
I must commend Director Kim Hyung-tae and his team for their visionary design of the Naytibas. My first encounter with Gigas in Stellar Blade genuinely terrified me. Sure, its entry might seem cliche to most players, however, the way Gigas can fill your screen for 90% of the time during the fight is frightening and imposing, forcing us to make sure to counter every move that Gigas can throw at our way.
As the first Alpha Naytiba, Gigas will be one of the toughest enemies you encounter in Stellar Blade. The reason for this is that this monstrosity paves the way for other tougher Bosses that await EVE further down her journey.
How to Counter Gigas’ Moves
To effectively defeat Gigas in Stellar Blade safely, you first must know the moves that Gigas possesses. Gigas, unlike its predecessors, the Abaddon and Corrupter, is much more complex and requires us to be precise with EVE’s movements and when to strike Gigas at its weakest.
However, just like the Abaddon, Gigas only has two major phases that will haunt EVE, with the latter part of the battle allowing it to imbue its fists with flames, dealing substantially more damage and enhancing Gigas’ already deadly arsenal.
The First Phase
Once the initial cutscene is over, there will be a considerable amount of distance between EVE and Gigas, which opens up two different paths, depending on what action you want to take.
The first path is to simply wait for Gigas to come for you, as it will do so after around 3 seconds, which prompts it to lunge at you with a flurry of attacks, of which you can easily use Perfect Parry to fend them off, therefore allowing you some time to dish out your combo attacks. The second path is to take the fight to Gigas itself, so instead of waiting for it to pounce, you are the one who pounces on Gigas first. However, keep in mind that you cannot maintain your attacks for long, as Gigas will most likely initiate an attacking sequence once the cutscene ends.
After the initial stare-down, some things are worth keeping in mind at all times, the most notable being that Gigas has three different attacking sequences that can throw you off-balance. The main attacking sequence that you should be careful about is Gigas’ five-pronged attacks with its fists. These moves are deadly and can lock you in place, so brace yourself using Guard or Perfect Parry when Gigas unleashes this attacking sequence. However, do keep in mind that Gigas might be only doing two strings of attacks while trying to do this to throw you off balance, which happens to me several times since both variations start from the same direction, which is its left fist.
Moreover, Gigas will take some distance from your current position to charge up for several seconds and then proceed to bull-charge you. You cannot use Perfect Parry for this one, so use Dodge, or even better, Perfect Dodge, and use a follow-up attack to chip some of its health. Lastly, Gigas will attempt to jump and perform a deadly splash attack that is once again not Parryable, so using Dodge here is the key to avoiding unnecessary damage from Gigas.
The Second Phase
Once you whittle down Gigas’ health to 60%, the second phase of this battle kicks in. Unlike the Abaddon, Gigas doesn’t have much going on here compared to its first phase. The only notable difference is that its fists are now imbued with flames, thus allowing it to deal more damage to EVE.
Overall, the strategies for the second phase are more or less the same as the first phase, chip out Gigas’ health whenever you can after either Parrying or Dodging its attacks by utilizing Incursion and Onslaught Combos, and carefully watch its movement in case it tries to do a splash attack or bull-charging you, and you should have no major issues when fighting Gigas in Stellar Blade. It took me three times to successfully secure the victory, though I’m sure that most players can defeat this Alpha Naytiba earlier than I did.
- Second Phase Begins.
- Perfect Time Window to Strike.
And that’s all the important elements you need to put Gigas to rest and advance the story in Stellar Blade.
