Resident Evil Requiem features 11 boss encounters across both Leon and Grace’s campaigns, ranging from a slow-burning cat-and-mouse chase with a light-sensitive horror to a full two-phase Nemesis transformation in the finale. Each boss demands a distinct playstyle. Mastering the parries, targeting weak spots, and managing resources under pressure is the key.
Spoiler Warning: This guide covers all Resident Evil Requiem bosses in story order and contains major late-game spoilers, including the final boss. Come back once you are ready for full details on each encounter.
1. All Bosses List
Resident Evil Requiem splits its boss encounters between Leon and Grace, with Grace handling more avoidance-based fights and Leon shouldering the majority of direct combat showdowns. Two optional bosses also exist—the Chef and Grace’s Chunk encounters—and while neither is essential for story progress, both offer meaningful rewards worth earning on a first playthrough.

2. How to Beat All Bosses
Every boss in Resident Evil Requiem is always built around a core mechanical theme, be it surviving without weapons, exploiting environmental hazards, managing parry timing, or targeting exposed weak points under pressure.
2.1 The Girl (Shadow Ghost)
Character: Grace | Location: Care Center, Rhodes Hill
The Girl is Resident Evil Requiem‘s signature recurring terror for Grace—a ghost-like humanoid with long white hair that stalks the Care Center’s darkened corridors. This first encounter is not a fight. The Girl cannot be killed here and must simply be avoided while you complete the Care Center’s puzzle objectives.
How to Escape from The Girl
- The Girl appears in the adjacent room to the Nurses’ Station during a cutscene after you get the Lighter from Room 201. She will immediately give chase, but you can lose her by retreating to Room 203, the room where Grace first woke up.
- Once she breaks off pursuit, return to the Nurses’ Station. Move the cart close to the toolbox above the cabinet to retrieve it. Note that moving the cart creates noise and will attract The Girl. Hide under the small table in the corner and wait for her to leave the room before climbing to grab the Screwdriver. (On Standard Classic difficulty, an Ink Ribbon is available from a drawer in this area by moving a corpse aside.)
- With the Screwdriver in hand, head back to Room 201 to open the fuse box. The Girl will camp in the hallway, so return to Room 203, wait for her to destroy the light, then leave, then throw a Glass Bottle to distract her from the hallway before sneaking back.
- Open the fuse box in Room 201 using the Screwdriver, then collect the Fuse. A cutscene triggers, and The Girl drops from the ceiling into the room.
- Sprint immediately to the door with the missing fuse slot at the end of the hallway, left of the Horse Statue. Insert the Fuse to seal off this area and transition back to Leon.
Care Center Basement
The Girl descends to the Basement after Leon’s encounter above. She cannot be fought directly here either—focus on collecting the three Joint Plugs and progressing through the basement objectives. She will be dealt with permanently at the Water Treatment Plant.
Water Treatment Plant
The final version of The Girl is significantly more aggressive than in either of the Care Center encounters. The objective shifts from pure evasion to a structured power-restoration sequence:
- Press the roof hatch switch first. It will not open yet, but doing so marks all three Power Distribution Units on the map.
- Head to the lower floor. The Girl will immediately move toward you—throw an Empty Bottle away from your target unit to distract her before proceeding.
- Activate the Storage Area unit first, as it is the easiest of the three. If The Girl blocks the lever, activate a nearby light source to drive her back.
- Chemical Treatment unit next—the lever is heavy and takes time to pull. A free Molotov sits on the cart near the lever. Throw it at The Girl to stun her and hold the activation window.
- The Control Room unit is last, since the lever is missing. Find the Crank Lever in the Filing Room accessible from the same room. The Girl will physically push Grace away from this unit if Grace gets too close, so lure her into a lit room first, then return and insert the crank lever.
- Take the elevator back up and approach the roof hatch switch. The Girl will appear one final time—activate the light pointing at the hatch switch to freeze her in place, then open the roof hatch.
- With sunlight flooding the area, shoot The Girl to finish the encounter. Use a standard handgun rather than Requiem bullets, as she is fully vulnerable to all weapons at this point.
2.2 Chunk — Grace (Optional)
Character: Grace | Location: Care Center – East Wing (2F)
Grace’s Chunk encounter is entirely optional, but defeating it rewards the Eye Spy Charm, making it worth attempting if you have the resources. This version of Chunk moves slowly through the East Wing 2nd floor corridor near the ID Wristband Level 1, giving you room to manage the fight carefully.
How to Beat
- Use 3 Hemolytic Injectors. This is the most resource-efficient method. Crouch behind Chunk and press R2 to inject.
- Alternatively, a couple of Requiem bullets will put it down faster if you have ammo to spare.
- Chunk moves slowly and does not dodge. Often, it will lunge toward Grace in a straight line, making it easy to aim and retreat.
2.3 Chunk — Leon
Character: Leon | Location: Care Center – Attic
Leon’s mandatory Chunk encounter in the Attic is considerably more intensive than Grace’s optional version, but the game conveniently places a pump-action shotgun just outside the boss area to telegraph the intended approach.
How to Beat
- Before engaging, pick up the MSBG 500 Shotgun from beside Chunk and the corpse it is eating. It deals significantly more damage than Leon’s default weapons, and the Attic is stocked with spare Shotgun Shells. Collect them before Chunk notices you.
- Aim for Chunk’s head at all times. It does not dodge and charges directly at Leon, making headshots consistently easy to land.
- Trap Chunk in the Attic’s doorways. He gets caught in the narrow frame, creating a free firing angle. Keep targeting the head even while he is lodged in a doorway for maximum damage.
- When Chunk drops to his knees after taking enough damage, switch to the Hatchet and land three melee strikes before he recovers. Repeat the cycle: shotgun headshots until he kneels, then three Hatchet presses. Only three knock-downs are required.
Defeating Chunk as Leon here drops two Hand Grenades, which are valuable resources for clearing zombie clusters at the end of Leon’s Care Center section.
2.4 Blister Borne — First Encounter
Character: Leon | Location: Care Center – Chapel
The Blister Borne is a massive infected hulk covered in inflamed orange cysts that serve as its primary weak points. It appears twice in the game; this first encounter in the Care Center Courtyard / Chapel is the more dangerous of the two, since it is your introduction to the fight’s mechanics under pressure.
Weak Points and Mechanics
- Four cysts total: one on the back and three across the stomach and chest.
- Each destroyed cyst causes blood to burst outward, immediately mutating any nearby zombies into faster, more aggressive Blister Head variants.
- The Blister Borne moves slowly but can charge at full speed without warning, closing distance almost instantly. The charge cannot be parried—sidestep it as soon as the animation begins.
- Basic arm swings can be parried with the Hatchet, but the deflection throws Leon off-balance and leaves no room for a quick counterattack. Use parrying as a last resort when cornered rather than as an offensive tool.
How to Beat
- Keep your distance at all times and do not let it back you into a corner.
- Prioritize the back cyst first. It becomes much harder to target once the Blister Borne turns to face you and focuses its aggression.
- Use shotgun blasts on the chest and stomach cysts. The two Explosive Canisters in the Chapel are excellent for stunning the Blister Borne and clearing zombie waves. Position yourself near one before popping a cyst.
- Zombies carrying axes will spawn during the fight. After killing them, pick up or throw their axes—thrown axes stagger both the Blister Borne and Blister Heads, creating free damage windows.
- After each cyst pop, lure spawning zombies to the second floor—the narrow staircase and hallway funnel them into a kill zone where a single Explosive Canister or Hatchet chain clears them efficiently before you return focus to the boss.
- After each cyst pop, immediately clear any mutated Blister Heads before turning back to the main boss. They are fast and lethal if ignored.
Tip: The Explosive Canisters in the Chapel are your best friend for managing Blister Head swarms that erupt after each cyst is destroyed. Position yourself near a canister before popping a cyst, then shoot it as Blister Heads rush you. This saves pistol and shotgun ammo for the boss itself.
2.5 Emily
Character: Leon | Location: Water Treatment Plant
Emily’s transformation into a monster serves as a brief but emotionally weighted boss encounter in the Water Treatment Plant section. This fight is straightforward compared to what surrounds it—no special mechanics or weak spot targeting is required.
How to Beat
- Simply fire consistently. Emily’s mutated form moves erratically but is not significantly faster than a standard enemy.
- There are no phase transitions. Once she takes enough damage, the encounter ends via cutscene.
2.6 Titan Spinner (Giant Spider)
Character: Leon | Location: East Raccoon City – Ruined Building
The Titan Spinner is Leon’s first boss in Raccoon City—a massive spider that exploits the vertical space of a ruined multi-floor building. It is fast, mobile, and summons small baby spiders to interrupt your aim.
There is currently no Arachnophobia Mode in Resident Evil Requiem, and this section of the game cannot be skipped. Players with arachnophobia should be aware before entering the ruined building.
Attack Patterns and Mechanics
- The fight begins as a chase sequence through the lower floors of the building. Do not shoot the Titan Spinner during this phase—it cannot be defeated here, and you will only waste ammo. Focus entirely on escaping to the upper level, which is marked as the fight objective.
- Once on the upper level, the proper fight begins. The spider scurries up walls and disappears from view before lunging from unexpected angles.
- Spawns baby spiders that close in quickly. You can kill them with Handgun shots or Hatchet swings before refocusing on the boss.
- Its primary weak spot is its mouth—only vulnerable when it faces you directly. Hard skin on the head and body deflects most shots that miss the mouth.
- After enough mouth damage, it collapses, exposing a cyst on its back. Fire Requiem bullets at the exposed back cyst (approximately 4–5 shots) for a burst damage window before it rights itself.
How to Beat
- Stay mobile above all else. The Titan Spinner’s fangs and sharp legs deal massive damage at close range.
- Red explosive canisters are positioned around the arena. Shooting one instantly knocks the Titan Spinner down, creating an immediate back cyst window without needing to grind its health through the mouth. Hand Grenades also trigger an instant knockdown.
- Use SMG or shotgun fire into its open mouth from mid-range during normal upright phases.
- When baby spider spawns increase, clear them with the Hatchet before they mob you.
2.7 Victor and Garmrs (Motorcycle Chase)
Character: Leon | Location: East Raccoon City – Highway
The Garmrs and Victor motorcycle encounter in Resident Evil Requiem is a high-speed set-piece rather than a traditional arena boss fight. Leon rides through the highway on a motorcycle while mutated dogs (Garmrs) swarm him, and Victor pursues from behind with an RPG launcher.
How to Beat
- Kill the closest Garmr first on each wave—they attack at close range and deal the most immediate damage.
- When a red arrow flashes above Victor’s position, shoot him immediately to interrupt his rocket launcher charge. Missing the window means taking an RPG blast directly. There are two windows on the standard run. Reload between each attack burst to stay ready.
- Keep your gun consistently reloaded between Garmr waves. Running dry when Victor’s arrow appears is the most common cause of death in this sequence.
- The final section ends with a quick-draw prompt—shoot Victor the moment the on-screen cue appears.
2.8 Super Tyrant (Mr. X)
Character: Leon | Location: Raccoon City Center – Basketball Court
Mr. X reappears in the R.P.D. building as a classic Resident Evil 2 callback, but this version cannot be fought inside the R.P.D. Do not waste any ammo trying to damage him there. Focus entirely on escaping the building, conserving every bullet for the real encounter outside.
The true fight triggers near the Basketball Court after Leon passes through Gun Shop Kendo, where Mr. X reveals his mutation into the new Super Tyrant with his heart fully exposed. Defeating him here unlocks the I Remember That, Too Bronze trophy.
Attack Patterns and Mechanics
- The Super Tyrant’s only weak point is the pulsating heart exposed on his chest. All other body parts weaken your damage output.
- He momentarily stops before every attack, giving you a reliable window to aim at the heart.
- Charge attacks and wide punches can be parried with the Hatchet (L1 just before impact), staggering him and opening a safe window for shooting. Note: thrown cars and leap attacks cannot be parried—run away from any car Mr. X moves near.
- When Mr. X kneels after taking sufficient heart damage, a Hatchet prompt QTE appears. Press it immediately to drive the Hatchet into the heart for a massive damage burst. This needs to happen only 2–3 times before the fight ends.
How to Beat
- Use Requiem bullets on his heart without hesitation—Mr. X is classified as a Super Tyrant and is highly durable even when hit at his weak point. Rifles and Shotguns are strong alternatives, but Requiem deals the most single-shot damage.
- Upgrade the Hatchet to its maximum level before this fight if possible. A max-level Hatchet requires less frequent sharpening during the encounter and remains a worthwhile investment for the ARK section that follows.
- Parry consistently to avoid taking hits and create safe firing windows, but only on charges and punches—identify the attack type before committing to a parry input.
2.9 Plant 43 (Giant Plant)
Character: Leon | Location: Blackthorn Station / ARK Entrance
Plant 43 returns from Resident Evil 2 in enormous mutated form, blocking the entrance to the ARK facility at the bottom of Blackthorn Station. The fight is structured in two phases separated by an environmental trigger.
Attack Patterns and Mechanics
- The center bud is the main weak point—it opens only periodically and becomes vulnerable. Shoot inside it with rapid-fire weapons when it blooms.
- Left and right tendrils telegraph their attacks by rising upward first. Move away from any tentacle that lifts before it slams down.
- The boss can perform a quick center head snap that lunges directly at Leon—this is the most dangerous attack. Sidestep it to avoid damage and immediately fire into the open mouth it creates.
How to Beat
- Phase 1: Wait for the center bud to bloom open, then fire SMG or shotgun rounds into the exposed interior. Dodge left and right tendril slams. Repeat until the plant sustains enough damage.
- Phase 2 trigger: After enough damage, explosive gas barrels drop below the plant. Shoot any tank to trigger an explosion that instantly kills Plant 43.
Tip: Do not waste Requiem bullets or grenades on Phase 1. The gas tank explosion in Phase 2 ends the fight instantly regardless of remaining health, so the Phase 1 goal is simply to survive and deal enough damage to trigger the tank drop.
Switch to SMG for consistent damage output into the center bud and save your heavy weaponry for the ARK’s boss gauntlet.
2.10 The Commander
Character: Leon | Location: ARK Facility
The Commander is a skilled close-quarters operative who bears a striking resemblance to HUNK from Resident Evil 2 in both fighting style and outfit. The game does not confirm whether this is actually H.U.N.K., so his identity remains officially unconfirmed as of the current version.
This is a pure CQC knife-versus-hatchet duel. Firearms are completely ineffective as the Commander dodges every bullet and punishes shooting attempts with a stun counter.
How to Beat
- Do not use guns. The Commander is immune to bullet stagger and will immediately counter any shot with a stun, even if hits visually register.
- The entire fight is won through parrying with the Hatchet (L1 timed just before his strike lands). A successful parry stuns him—immediately spam R2 to hit him with the Hatchet before he recovers. Only attack after a successful parry, as the Commander can parry your counterattacks if you swing freely.
- He is extremely fast and chains quick knife attack strings. Focus entirely on reading his animation tells and pressing the parry input at the last possible moment.
- If playing in First-Person POV, lower the camera angle slightly toward the ground rather than keeping it at head level. The Commander strikes low, and a head-level view obscures his attack animations. A ground-angled view lets you see his full body and read his incoming strikes far more clearly.
- Once his health is sufficiently depleted, a QTE sequence triggers. Follow the on-screen prompts to land the finishing blow.
Defeating the Commander drops the Mortal Edge, a significantly superior Hatchet that replaces Leon’s default one and is the recommended weapon for the Victor Gideon final boss fight. The Mortal Edge should be equipped immediately and used as your primary parry tool going forward.
2.11 Victor Gideon (Final Boss)
Character: Leon | Location: ARK Facility (Release Elpis ending only)
Victor Gideon is the true final boss of Resident Evil Requiem, appearing only if you chose Release Elpis at the terminal. Before entering this fight, spend any remaining Antique Coins at the Supply Box, max out the Hatchet if possible, and equip the Mortal Edge from the Commander fight as your primary parry weapon. This is the last fight in the game—use every resource available without reservation.
Phase 1 — Victor with Mutated Arm
Victor advances on Leon with a mutated tentacle arm that deals serious damage on hit. Unlike the Commander, all of Victor’s attacks in this phase can be parried, including his tentacle strikes, and crucially, a successful parry does not require a Hatchet counterattack. After deflecting an attack, you can immediately draw a firearm and shoot before his recovery window closes.
How to Beat Phase 1
- Stay mobile and keep shooting Victor between parry windows with your strongest available weapon. A few Requiem shots to the head will accelerate his transition into a brief mini-second phase, where he absorbs the purple energy beneath the facility. Use this charging animation as a free window to fire the Requiem again.
- Watch for glowing electric lines spreading across the ground—Victor channels electricity that covers floor sections. Step off any glowing tile immediately.
- When Victor raises his RPG-7, shoot him quickly to force him to drop it, then pick it up and fire it directly back at him. The RPG-7 contains only one shot, so do not miss.
- After enough damage, Phase 1 ends and Victor transforms.
Phase 2 — Nemesis Transformation
Victor transforms into a Nemesis-like monstrosity, growing dramatically in size. His attacks are relentless in this form but remain fully parryable—even attacks that appear physically impossible to deflect can still be countered with the Hatchet.
How to Beat Phase 2
- Three large glowing red cysts appear on Victor’s body. Target them with SMG fire—SMGs have the highest fire rate and are the most effective weapon type for destroying the cysts quickly. Shotguns also work well for instant cyst pops at close range.
- After the first three cysts are destroyed, additional smaller cysts spawn on the ground around the arena. Each takes a single bullet—clear them quickly with a Handgun or a single Grenade throw.
- More body cysts will appear after the ground wave. Continue parrying Victor’s Nemesis hand strikes while shooting cysts between deflections. Sharpen the Hatchet whenever Victor pauses between attack strings—maintaining a sharp blade ensures every parry registers cleanly.
- Once sufficient cysts have been destroyed, a final Hatchet prompt appears; press it to deliver the killing blow with the Mortal Edge.
Do not use grenades or throwables directly on Victor’s body cysts during Phase 2—explosive splash damage does not effectively register against them and wastes your last remaining resources. Use sustained SMG fire for multi-cyst clearing and grenades only for emergency crowd control.
4. Boss Fight Tips
- Parry mastery is non-negotiable. Three bosses, the Super Tyrant, the Commander, and Victor Gideon, all punish passive play and reward timed parries with L1. Practice every parry opportunity from the Super Tyrant onward.
- Save Requiem bullets for boss cysts: The Requiem revolver is the fastest tool for destroying exposed weak points on the Titan Spinner, Blister Borne, and Super Tyrant. Avoid spending Requiem ammo on standard enemies.
- Environmental hazards are designed to help: Every major boss arena contains explosive barrels, gas tanks, or reactive environmental elements. Lure bosses toward them deliberately rather than treating them as obstacles.
- Emily does not need your heavy ammo: Pistol fire is sufficient for Emily on any difficulty. Reserve shotgun shells and Requiem bullets for the Titan Spinner and Super Tyrant that follow.
- On Insanity with Infinite RPG: The RPG eliminates most boss phases in one hit. The Commander is the sole exception—his gun immunity still applies, and the Hatchet parry system must still be used regardless of difficulty or equipped cheats
