Canari Plushes are great items to have in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. These plushes will give various passive effects to you or your Pokemon, and once you have them, the effect is active at all times. However, it’s not clear how exactly you can obtain these. In this guide, we will go over what Canari Plushes do, where you can find them, and what you need for them.
1. What Do Canari Plushes Do?
Canari Plushes are Key Items that each give you a permanent passive effect once you have them. There are 5 different plushes you can get:
- Red Canari Plush: Increases the EXP that all of your Pokemon get
- Gold Canari Plush: Increases the Prize Medals gained from winning a battle
- Pink Canari Plush: Increases the amount of Mega Shards you get from destroying Mega Crystals
- Green Canari Plush: Increases the Trainer’s (your) health
- Blue Canari Plush: Increases the chance to catch Pokemon
- Upgrades: Each Plush can be upgraded up to level 3, increasing its effects
2. Where Can You Get Canari Plushes?
There is a Canari Plush you can get fairly early on in the story. After that, there is a special vendor you will need to find for the rest of them.
- You will get a free Red Canari Plush partway through Main Mission 5: The City in the Shadow of Prism Tower
- For the rest, you will need to talk to a nameless NPC outside of Racine Construction, who will exchange Colorful Screws for them

3. How to Get Colorful Screws
Colorful Screws are a unique resource that’s scattered throughout Lumiose City. The sole purpose of them is to be traded for Canari Plushes, making them valuable for completionists.
- Appearance: Colorful Screws look like purple Poke Balls on the ground, and have a distinct purple shine
- Platforming Challenge: Many Coloful Screws will require you to climb scaffolding and jump across gaps to reach them
- Fixed Locations: Unlike other ground items, they do not respawn, and their locations are set
- Total Count: There are 100 Colorful Screws to find in Lumiose City

3.1 What Happens if You Find All 100 Screws?
If you find all 100 Colorful Screws, speak to the vendor again, and he will give you a Giant Canari Plush. This is a purely cosmetic item that will sit in your hotel room.
4. How Much Do Canari Plushes Cost?
All of the Canari Plushes have the same cost. The prices for each one will increase as you level it up.
- Level 1: 3 Colorful Screws
- Level 2: 5 Colorful Screws
- Level 3: 8 Colorful Screws
Each Canari Plush gives a useful effect, but the Red and Blue ones are arguably the most useful to focus on first.
