What Are Spider-Bots?

Spider-Bots are a unique collectable which you can find in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. In essence, they’re a replacement for the back-pack collectables from the first game, giving you something small to find as you explore New York.

You’ll first unlock access to the Spider-Bots after the main story mission Science Buddy, which comes after the mission where Miles and Peter visit Coney Island. After that point, you’ll be instructed to hunt down a strange nearby signal at the directions of Ganke in the mandatory mission Spider-Spy. This, of course, turns out to be a Spider-Bot. Seeing as neither Peter nor Miles know what this bot is or where it came from, you’re asked to find as many as you can for Ganke so he can try and figure it all out.

The First Spider-Bot

The First Spider-Bot

In total, there are 42 Spider-Bots for you to collect around Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn, with each of New York’s 14 districts having a different number of Spider-Bots to collect. Another interesting detail is that each Spider-Bot is themed after a different Spider-Man from the Spiderverse. The very first one you pick is themed after Miguel O’hara’s Spider-Man 2099 suit, but other Spider-Bots are themed after other versions of Spider-Man such as Spider-Gwen, Ghost Spider and more.

As for how to find the Spider-Bots, you’ll want to keep an eye out for any large pulses of purple energy. The Spider-Bots themselves are really tiny and you’d easily miss them if you were just swinging by. To rectify that, the Spider-Bots release a pulse of purple energy periodically, allowing you to easily spot them if you’re close by. The range of that pulse is quite limited, though, so you’ll need to be pretty near the Spider-Bot to see it and they won’t appear on the mini-map like other collectables.

All Spider-Bot Locations in Spider-Man 2

Financial District Spider-Bot Locations

The first district we’ll be going over for finding all the Spider-Bots in Spiderman 2 is the Financial District. In total, you can find 2 Spider-Bots in the Financial District.

  1. Classic Mysterio Spider-Bot: The first Spider-Bot can be found high in the air near the central part of the district, which is very close to the first The Flame mission you get given. Jump off one of the nearby skyscrapers and then use the Webwings to easily grab it.
  2. Spider-Ham Spider-Bot: The second Spider-Bot is hiding around the district’s east side, close to the border with Chinatown. You’ll find it on the side of a tall white building.

Greenwich Spider-Bot Locations

Next up is Greenwich, the area directly north of the Financial District. Greenwich has one more Spider-Bot to find than the previous district, meaning that there are a total of 3 Spider-Bots lurking around the Greenwich district. The very first Spider-Bot you find is from Greenwich, leaving two roaming the open world.

  1. Flipside Spider-Bot: The first Greenwich Spider-Bot is all the way on the west side of the district near the seafront. Once you’re there, have a look around for the Modern Art gallery. The Spider-Bot is hiding above the gallery’s entrance.
  2. JJJ Spider-Bot: Greenwich’s second Spider-Bot is located near the district’s central area. Head there without delay and you’ll find it chilling on an amusing painting of J. Jonah Jameson on a building rooftop.

Chinatown Spider-Bot Locations

The third hunting ground for Spider-Bots in Spiderman 2 is Chinatown, an area to the southeastern end of Manhattan. In total, Chinatown is hiding 3 Spider-Bots for you to find.

  1. Spider-Woman Spider-Bot: You’ll find the first Chinatown Spider-Bot near the middle of the district. This one is attached to the side of a building.
  2. Mister Negative Spider-Bot: The next Chinatown bot is floating high in the sky near the bridge which connects Chinatown to Downtown Queens. Like before, use one of the taller buildings as a jumping point for your Webwings and you’ll be able to snatch this one up easily.
  3. Spider Armour MK II Spider-Bot: The last Chinatown Spider-Bot is to the far east and close to the border with Greenwich. This bot is affixed to a rather pretty mural on the side of another building.

Midtown Spider-Bot Locations

Midtown is the next district on the hunting list. Like the previous few areas, Midtown has a total of 3 Spider-Bots to look out for.

  1. Spider-Monkey Spider-Bot: The first Spider-Bot is located near the central part of the district and can be found near the top of a tall white building. Just run on up to the top and claim your prize with ease.
  2. Spider-UK Spider-Bot: The second Midtown Spider-Bot can be found in the middle between the first Midtown bot and the border to Chinatown. You’ll find it near the building’s roof.
  3. Spider-Punk Spider-Bot: Lastly, the third Spider-Bot is hanging around near the north, close to the Upper East Side border. This bot is hard to miss, especially because it’s right next to a Prowler stash. If you’re having trouble, though, head north from the ColeXCo building and you should see the bright purple pulses soon enough.

Hell’s Kitchen Spider-Bot Locations

To the east of Midtown is the infamous Hell’s Kitchen. Daredevil’s playground is coveting a total of 4 Spider-Bots, making this one of the most packed districts in terms of how many bots there are to find, especially given the district’s rather small size.

  1. Spirit Spider Spider-Bot: The first Spider-Bot is on the side of a church. You’ll find it in an alleyway on the border between Hell’s Kitchen and Greenwich.
  2. Rhino Spider-Bot: Next is the second Hell’s Kitchen bot, which you’ll find on the side of some smokestacks to the far east of the district. Head near the waterfront and keep your eye on the chimneys and you’ll soon see the telltale purple pulses.
  3. Future Foundation Spider-Bot: The third Spider-Bot is right on the border between Hell’s Kitchen and the Upper West Side, so much so that it’s hard to tell which one it should belong to. You’ll find it at the top of a building with some weird spherical decorations.
  4. Vulture Spider-Bot: Last up in Hell’s Kitchen is another high-in-the-sky Spider-Bot near the middle of the district. The surrounding buildings aren’t the tallest so you may have to get a bit creative with your Webwings to reach this one.

Central Park Spider-Bot Locations

Next on the list is the famous Central Park, which is a nice change of pace from all the buildings. This district is one of the leaner offerings, with a total of 2 Spider-Bots to find.

  1. Iron Spider Spider-Bot: To find the first Spider-Bot in Central Park, approach it from the north-east of the Upper West Side. There’s a long road which stretches from here into Central Park and, if you wander down it, you’ll soon find the Spider-Bot attached to the underside of a bridge.
  2. Spider-Man 1602 Spider-Bot: Meanwhile, the second Spider-Bot is near the middle of Central Park, sitting helplessly on a rock in a relatively open clearing.

Upper East Side Spider-Bot Locations

After Central Park, we have the Upper East Side. This area has a total of 3 Spider-Bots to hunt for

  1. Spider Armour MK III Spider-Bot: The first can be found near the main road which comes from Harlem. You’ll find the Spider-Bot on the back of a billboard.
  2. Aracnido Jr. Spider-Bot: The second Upper East Side Spider-Bot is right on the border with Central Park. It’s on the side of a fancy-looking building.
  3. Spider-Man Noir Spider-Bot: Finally, the third Upper East Spider-Bot is closer to the central part of the district and it’s hiding on the side of a taller block of flats. This area is just west of the famous Avenger’s Tower, a massive skyscraper marked by a giant red A at the top, so use that as a guiding point.

Upper West Side Spider-Bot Locations

On the opposite side of Central Park is the Upper East Side’s twin, the Upper West Side district. Like its mirror, the Upper West Side has a total of 3 more Spider-Bots to sniff out

  1. Secret Wars Spider-Bot: The first Spider-Bot in the Upper West End is pretty easy to find. With this in mind, go to the northern part of the district and head into the set of buildings opposite the Oscorp facility on the waterfront. This area has a massive open gap between each of the buildings and the first Spider-Bot will be waiting on one of them.
  2. Dusk Spider-Bot: As for the second bot, you’ll be going south and towards the Central Park border. Head to the rooftops and, after a little searching, the Spider-Bot will make itself known.
  3. Spider-Girl Spider-Bot: The final Upper West Side bot is located all the way to the southeastern part of the district on the top of a tall skyscraper.

Harlem Spider-Bot Locations

Closing out the Mahattan Spider-Bot hunt is Harlem, the most northern district in Spider-Man 2. While it is one of the largest districts in the game, Harlem only has 3 Spider-Bots for you to find

  1. Ultimate Spider-Bot: The first Harlem Spider-Bot is close to the Oscorp facility we mentioned before, on the western side of Manhattan. Just north of that facility is an area full of trees with a single old mausoleum in the middle, which is where you’ll find the bot hanging out.
  2. Anya Corazon Spider-Bot: The second Spider-Bot is still on the district’s western end, but a little more north than the first bot. You can find this one stuck to the side of a building.
  3. Across the Spider-Verse Spider-Bot: Lastly, the third Harlem bot can be found near where the district meets Central Park. To be more specific, it’s hiding at the top of a tight set cluster of buildings near the park’s entrance.

Astoria Spider-Bot Locations

Leaving Manhattan, our next target is Queens and the district of Astoria to the north. In total, Astoria has 4 Spider-Bots to find.

  1. Classic Spider-Bot: The first Astoria Spider-Bot isn’t actually in Queens but on a small island which separates it from Manhattan. Near the red metal bridge to the island’s south is a small cluster of buildings, one of which has the Spider-Bot resting at the top.
  2. Shocker Spider-Bot: The second Astoria Spider-Bot is another one super high in the air. However, unlike the previous Spider-Bots that were high up, there aren’t any nearby skyscrapers to use as leverage for the Webwings. Instead, you need to go underneath the red bridge we just mentioned as there’s a wind tunnel there: ride the tunnel all the way through with your Webwings and it should take you straight to the Spider-Bot.
  3. Blood-Spider Spider-Bot: Astoria’s third Spider-Bot is in the northwest of the district. It’s hiding at the top of a bunch of brick buildings.
  4. Mangaverse Spider-Bot: Last up on Astoria’s list is a Spider-Bot to the east, far away from all of the other Astoria bots. You’ll find it at the top of a tall pillar-like building with a pointy roof.

Downtown Queens Spider-Bot Locations

South of Astoria is the Downtown Queens district where Peter lives. This rather quaint area of New York has 3 Spider-Bots for you to hunt down.

  1. Stealth Spider-Bot: The first Spider-Bot is lurking at the back of a white house which is right on the border with Astoria. The street this house is located on winds down from Astoria, so just follow the street and the purple pulse of the Spider-Bot should quickly give away what house you need to check.
  2. Gwen Stacy Spider-Bot: Spider-Bot 2 in Downtown Queens can be found right at the southern end, near the bridge which connects it to Littler Odessa. You’ll find it on top of one of the grey buildings right next to the Queens entrance to the bridge.
  3. Into the Spider-Verse Spider-Bot: The last Downtown Queens Spider-Bot is to the very northwest of the district. It is very easy to find, with the Spider-Bot resting alone inside a gated baseball field.

Little Odessa Spider-Bot Locations

Little Odessa is the first district of Spider-Man 2’s final New York borough, Brooklyn. Like most districts, Little Odessa has a total of 3 Spider-Bots to locate.

  1. Electro-Proof Spider-Man Spider-Bot: You’ll be heading to the eastern side of Little Odessa for your first (and second) Spider-Bot. Right where the district meets a large line of trees, you’ll find the Spider-Bot perched on the side of a building close to a yellow crane.
  2. Scarlet Spider Spider-Bot: The second Odessa Spider-Bot is directly to the north of the first one, hiding on a water tower.
  3. Black Cat Noir Spider-Bot: For the last Little Odessa Spider-Bot, go to the western waterfront and look for a building with a penthouse and a balcony. The third bot is chilling on the roof, which overlooks the water and Mahattan.

Williamsburg Spider-Bot Locations

Williamsburg is the penultimate district on our list of potential Spider-Bot locations. Despite being a decently sized district, Williamsburg only has 2 Spider-Bots for you to snatch up

  1. Prowler Spider-Bot: To reach the first Williamsburg Spider-Bot, head to the northern side of the district and look around the grey skyrises. The Spider-Bot will be waiting at the top of one of them.
  2. Scorpion Spider-Bot: As for the second Williamsburg Spider-Bot, you’ll need to head all the way south, where you’ll find it high in the air. Like the Astoria Spider-Bot of a similar nature, there aren’t a ton of super-tall buildings here, so keep an eye out for any wind tunnels or updrafts that can help you maintain height with your Webwings.

Downtown Brooklyn Spider-Bot Locations

Finally, the last district we’ll be going over is Downtown Brooklyn, easily one of the biggest areas in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Fitting its size, there are 4 Spider-Bots in total to pick up while you explore this area.

  1. Superior Spider-Bot: To the southeast of Downtown Brooklyn is a massive open area which juts out from the rest and the first Spider-Bot is underneath the train tracks which run through that part of town.
  2. Mysterio Spider-Bot: Staying in that general area, the second Spider-Bot is hiding inside a closed-off area at the top of a set of buildings near that train line we just mentioned. Climb to the top, look out for the ping and then swoop on down to snatch your quarry from its hiding spot.
  3. Sensational Spider-Man Spider-Bot: The third Spider-Bot in Downtown Brooklyn is closer to the western side of the district. This one is lurking around the walls of an obscured car park just off the main road.
  4. Peni Parker Spider-Bot: Last but not least is the fourth Spider-Bot in Downtown Brooklyn, which you can find on the side of a tall building to the northeast of the district.

Final Spider-Bot Mission (Spider-Verse Easter Egg)

Once all 42 Spider-Bots have been located, you’ll be contacted by Ganke. He’s been trying to figure out the origins of the Spider-Bots this whole time and has been giving you periodic updates as you’ve been collecting them. With all 42 in collected, he’ll inform you that there is one final Spider-Bot signal originating from an old train line in lower Manhattan.

This will give you a new Side Story simply called Message which you can find in the Financial District. Upon completion, you get 1000 XP and over 400 Tech Parts which is extremely useful for crafting new gadgets, suits or suit tech upgrades.

The Final Spider-Bot Signal

The Final Spider-Bot Signal

The actual Message cutscene is a small Across the Spider-Verse easter egg. A familiar-looking portal opens up on the wall and inside is a character named Delilah, who is animated in the same graphic style as both of the Spider-Verse movies. After a brief bit of cryptic conversation, Delilah takes all of the Spider-Bots you’ve accrued throughout your adventurers back and tells you not to mention this to Miguel if he comes asking for them.

Delilah is actually a cut character from Across the Spider-Verse, as seen in the Across the Spider-Verse official artbook as well as this TikTok by dayakuracy. She would’ve been a bartender at The Bar With No Name, a bar that serves Spider-Man villains, and, while she didn’t get a chance to show up in that movie, it’s cool that she gets a brief time to shine in Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2
