Expanding your home in Heartopia is one of the biggest quality-of-life upgrades in the game, giving you more space to build, decorate, and customize your living area. Home Plots don’t unlock automatically, you need to progress the right systems, meet specific requirements, and manually purchase each new plot.
This guide breaks down how to unlock additional plot slots, and how to expand your property step by step, so you can grow your home without missing any requirements or wasting Gold.
1. Home Plots Expansion Objectives
In Heartopia, your home sits on a residential lot made up of buildable Home Plots (squares of land around your house). Unlocking and buying more plots increases the space where you can place structures and crafted items, letting you expand rooms, create larger crop areas, and build bigger outdoor setups like yards and patios.
The key thing to understand is that expanding your home area is a two-step process: you must increase your plot limit by progressing your D.G. Member’s Guild level, then you must manually purchase each plot with Gold from the plot management screen.

2. How To Increase Your Home Plot Limit
You can’t buy every plot immediately. Your ability to unlock more Home Plots is tied to your D.G. Member level in the D.G. Member’s Guild. As your level increases, you gain access to more available plots as a level-up perk.
Once your rank is high enough to unlock more plots, the extra plots become available in the plot screen, but they still won’t be usable until you purchase them with Gold.
How to Level Up the D.G. Member’s Guild
Progression revolves around Contribution Medals, which function like experience for the D.G. Member’s Guild. You earn Contribution Medals by completing Daily Resident Requests. These requests refresh daily and are one of the main ways to steadily push your D.G. Member level higher over time.
- You can complete up to five resident requests per day.
- Daily Resident Requests reset at 6 AM.
- Each completed Resident Request rewards 10 Contribution Medals, 5 Wishing Stars, and 1000 Gold.

Home Plot Unlock Limits by D.G. Member Level
Home Plots are unlocked as part of your D.G. Member progression. When you reach certain D.G. Member levels, your available plot total increases, which raises your plot limit and allows additional plots to be purchased from the plot management screen.
- Level 4: available plots increase to 4 total (this level adds two Home Plots).
- Level 6: available plots increase to 5 total.
- Level 8: available plots increase to 6 total.
- Level 11: available plots increase to 7 total.
- Level 14: available plots increase to 8 total.
- Level 16: available plots increase to 9 total.
In the plot interface, you may also see a larger grid of plots displayed (including locked plots), which indicates there are more plots shown in the system than you can currently unlock at the present D.G. Member level cap.
3. How to Expand Your Home Plot in Heartopia
After your D.G. Member level increases your plot limit, you still must purchase each plot to actually expand your property. Plot expansions are not automatic—you must go into the plot menu and unlock them one by one using Gold.
Open the Plot Management Screen
- Open your Watch (on PC, this is shown as Tab).
- Select the Developer’s Guild / D.G. Member’s Guild app.
- In the top-right corner, select the four-square icon to open Plot Management (on PC, this can also be accessed with E).
Purchase and Unlock a Plot
- In Plot Management, look for a plot with a wiggling/shaking lock (this indicates it’s currently unlockable).
- Select the plot you want to buy (plots are positioned around your existing home area).
- Pay the required Gold cost and confirm the purchase.
After purchasing a plot, a short sequence will play showing the land becoming available, and the plot becomes usable immediately.

4. Home Plot Cost and Management
The Plot Management screen isn’t just for buying land—it also shows you important details about each plot so you can plan expansions instead of buying blindly.
- Plot limit: how many plots you are currently allowed to own based on your D.G. Member level.
- Locked vs unlocked plots: which plots are available to purchase right now.
- Plot details: plot size, what can be placed on the plot, and any listed requirements.
- Gold cost: each plot has a price, and costs increase as you buy more (example, first plot cost 100 Gold, with later plots costing much more, such as 4,000 Gold).
