How to Get a Private Island in Heartopia

Private Island is a great way to expand your building capacity in Heartopia. Learn the requirement and how to start the Island Usage Application. Includes the Island Management Terminal purchase step and what activates access to your own island space.

Private Island - Heartopia

If you’ve reached the point in Heartopia where your home lot feels cramped or you’ve hit build limits, unlocking a Private Island is the next major milestone. This late-game feature gives you a completely separate decorative space with its own plot expansions, load limits, and access controls.

This guide breaks down exactly how to unlock the Private Island, what it costs, and what you can use it for once it’s yours.

1. Private Island Requirements in Heartopia

You cannot access the Private Island early in your progression. The entire feature is locked behind D.G. Member Level 30. Until you reach Level 30, no island quest appears and no island-related options become available.

Once you hit D.G. Level 30, the island system becomes available through your in-game watch. This is considered a late-game unlock and is designed for players who have already progressed significantly through Heartopia’s housing and decoration systems.

2. How to Start the Island Usage Application Quest

After reaching D.G. Member Level 30:

  1. Open your watch.
  2. Select Town Guide.
  3. Choose Island Usage Application quest.
  4. Press Accept.

Accepting the quest triggers a call from Mayor Atara, who introduces the island utilization program. The quest directs you to meet her in person to complete the application process.

3. Buying the Island Management Terminal

To officially unlock your Private Island, you must speak to Mayor Atara and select the dialogue option related to Island Utilization Application. During this interaction, you’ll be given the option to purchase the required item: the Island Management Terminal, which cost 100 Wishing Stars.

After paying the cost, the Island Management Terminal is added to your backpack, and your Private Island becomes available for use.

Important: The Private Island is not a resource zone and does not increase income, farming output, or material generation. Its primary purpose is building and decoration.

4. How to Access Your Private Island

Once you have the Island Management Terminal in your backpack:

  1. Return to your home lot.
  2. Open your backpack and place the
  3. Island Management Terminal anywhere on your property
  4. Interact with the terminal.
  5. Select the first icon to teleport to your Private Island.

You can return to your home or revisit the island anytime by interacting with the terminal again. Traveling between the two locations is handled entirely through this terminal.

5. What Your Private Island Looks Like

Your Private Island starts completely empty. There are no pre-built structures, no furniture, and no decorative elements placed automatically. It is a blank environment intended for personal-designed builds.

The island functions as a separate environment from your home lot. Decorations placed on the island do not count toward your home’s load limits. This separation is one of the main reasons you unlock the island: it gives you additional creative capacity without impacting your primary residence.

You can place furniture, structures, and decorative items from your inventory just as you would on your home lot. Home blueprints can also be used to quickly establish structured layouts.

6. Private Island Plot Expansion System

The Private Island has its own independent plot expansion system. Expanding the island increases your available decorative space. This system is separate from your home plot progression.

Plot expansions require Gold, and costs increase significantly with each new plot. Later expansions can become extremely expensive, so long-term planning is important.

Island Plot Number Gold Cost
Plot 1 100
Plot 2 4,000
Plot 3 8,000
Plot 4 16,000
Plot 5 24,000
Plot 6 32,000
Plot 7 40,000
Plot 8 60,000
Plot 9 80,000
Plot 10 100,000
Plot 11 120,000

As costs scale upward, later plot purchases require substantial Gold investment.

7. Private Island Access Settings

Despite its name, the Private Island does allow visitors. You can control who is allowed to access it by adjusting the settings tied to the Island Management Terminal.

Through your home settings, you can determine who can interact with the terminal and enter your island. Access options include:

  • Anyone
  • Friends only
  • Only yourself

When visitors are present, you can see who is currently on your island. However, their permissions are limited.

8. Private Island Restrictions

The Private Island is strictly a decorative and creative zone. It does not function like an expansion of the overworld resource systems.

  • No co-op building: visitors cannot place, remove, or modify objects. Only the island owner can build.
  • No farming: crops and flowers cannot be grown on the island.
  • No resource gathering: tools do not function for material collection on the island.

These restrictions are intentional. The island is not meant to generate resources or replace farming and gathering areas.

9. Best Uses for a Private Island in Heartopia

Because it provides a separate decorative environment with its own load limits, the Private Island is best used for large-scale creative projects.

  • Large themed builds that exceed your home’s object limits
  • Scenic showcase areas for photography or events
  • Dedicated social hangout spaces
  • Blueprint-heavy layouts that require more open space

You must treat the island as a secondary creative canvas while keeping your main home more functional and compact.
