Hollow Knight: Silksong – Far Fields Walkthrough

Discover all about the Far Fields region in this walkthrough for Hollow Knight Silksong. It includes all major locations from defeating Skull Ant mini-boss, map location, Seamstress quest, unlocking Drifter's Cloak and how to beat Fourth Chorus boss.

Far Fields Walkthrough

Far Fields in Hollow Knight: Silksong is a wide biome that pushes Hornet to complete some new quests and unlock a new region. First thing to do after entering Far Fields is to locate Shakra and purchase the map. Defeating the Fourth Chorus can be annoying due to its devastating attacks and fast-paced combat mechanics. Acquiring the Drifter’s Cloak on the way can make your progression smooth. In this guide, we’ll discuss how to get inside Far Fields, how to progress, and how to defeat the boss.

1. Get Inside Far Fields

Make your way to the right from the Lace arena.

  1. Approach the lever to hit it.
  2. Rest at the bench over there to mark it as a saved checkpoint.
  3. Exiting this chamber allows you to enter Far Fields.

1.1 Find the Skull Ant

Skull Ant

Skull Ant

Skull Ant is like a mini-boss in Far Fields region and guards access to the Hunter’s March. Jump to the platform next to you after traveling to the right.

  1. Take out the bug in this area, as it can attack you.
  2. You can’t approach the exit path up and out for now.
  3. Take the path to the right to get to the next area.
  4. Move to the totem pole to defeat the ninja over there.
  5. The Skull Ant mini-boss will be available on the platform next to you.

TIP: Skull Ant has a high slash attack which you can dash away from, to deal damage do jump overs when he dash towards you and counterattack from the back.

2. Fight the Enemy With the Sword

Eliminate the ninja ant to progress further. However, the fight can be challenging. The best way to defeat the enemy is by jumping over his slash attacks.

  1. Continue running to the right after defeating it.
  2. You can choose to exit the area from the lower path. I recommend leaving this area off the path to the right.
  3. Continue traveling in this next chamber and move down to encounter the enemy carrying a sword.
  4. Parry the attack and follow up with the counterattack to finish it off.

2.1 Purchase the Far Fields Map

Hit the explosive rock available on the lower right side.

  1. Doing so allows you to get your hands on Shell Shards.
  2. Travel back to move to the path on the top right.
  3. Eventually, you will approach the Shakra in a cave.
  4. Purchase the Far Fields map from her and exit the cave.

3. Speak with Seamstress

Seamstress Quest

Seamstress Quest

Continue moving to the path to the right. This path is just below Shakra’s cave.

  1. Head down to the base level and pass through an automation.
  2. While moving straight, you will come across a big balloon.
  3. Get inside the balloon by climbing on it to find Seamstress.
  4. Talk to Seamstress and gain the Hunt Flexile Spines quest.

3.1 Collect 25 Spine Cores

Get your way out of the giant balloon and keep moving to the fight to get inside the next chamber.

  • Defeat all the enemies in this area to get Spine Cores.
  • Get ready to strike the spikes when they shoot.
  • Make sure to collect 25 Spines Cores, so look for them.

3.2 Travel Back To Seamstress To Unlock Drifter’s Cloak

Don’t forget to collect Rosaries from the top left corner of this area.

  1. You can also choose to hit the explosive rock at the lower right side. Doing so allows you to make a path to the next chamber.
  2. Leave the area and quickly come back to get more Spine Cores.
  3. Return to Seamstress after collecting the required 25 Spine Cores.
  4. Turning in all Spine Cores allows you to unlock Drifter’s Cloak.

Drifter’s Cloak lets the hornet glide while in the air or do a jump glide. It helps in both boss fights to stay airborne and during platforming.

4. Where to Find Fourth Chorus

Return from the Seamstress’s location after unlocking Drifter’s Cloak to get to the main boss fight in Far Fields.

  1. Get yourself on the platform to get into the secret chamber.
  2. Move back down to start a fight with Fourth Chorus.

4.1 How to Defeat Fourth Chorus

Fourth Chorus Boss

Fourth Chorus Boss

Fourth Chorus is the fourth boss in Hollow Knight: Silksong, as the name suggests, and the main fight in Far Fields. The boss has attacks like directional slam down and sage wide swipe.

  • Fourth Chorus destroys the arena around you while being hard to hit.
  • His head is the only attackable part.
  • Do jump attacks on Fourth Chorus’s head whenever you get an opportunity.
  • Once you stagger him, his head will fall, and the stage area will be fully restored.
  • Spam attacks while he’s down for some easy hits.
  • Try attacking upwards to get the maximum DPS from not being knocked back while attacking.
  • Once you stagger him three times, Fourth Chorus will enter a second phase.
  • He will begin to remove the entire arena.
  • The Wind currents will be spawned on both sides.
  • When these wind currents spawn, ride them with the Drifter’s Cloak to attack the molten rock above him on both sides.
  • This will drop heavy molten rock on his face and end the boss fight.

5. Travel to Pilgrim’s Rest

Pilgrim's Rest

Pilgrim’s Rest

Make your way to the left till you get inside the vertical shaft.

  1. Ride the wind shaft and travel right to get to Pilgrim’s Rest.
  2. There is a bench at this location to save progress.

5.1 Open a Path to Greymoor

Take a path to the upper left doorway to exit the Pilgrim’s Rest.

  1. Ride the wind to move all the way up from Pilgrim’s Rest.
  2. Destroy all the rocks in this area and hit all he levers.
  3. Locate the orange rock in the topmost area.
  4. You will get to the higher level of the map via the current.
  5. Finally, you will get inside the region of Greymoor.
