Hollow Knight: Silksong – Deep Docks Walkthrough

Battle foes and solve mysteries as Hornet ascends on a deadly path of Deep Docks in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Progressing in this region is a bit hectic due to the numerous threats lurking around every corner. The entry area has blocked passages with heavy chains. Locate the switches and levers to power up the platform and open locked gates.

Find a lever that opens up the main central shaft and connects other Deep Docks areas. Players are bound with fire pits, challenging new enemies, and a boss fight in Deep Docks. This industrial area features environmental hazards such as ember floors, platforms, and lava pits. Start from The Marrow and reach the bottom right to get inside the Deep Docks.

1. Get Inside Deep Docks

Deep Docks is the next region to The Marrow. Buying the Deep Docks map from Shakra will help in progressing. Pass through multiple platforms to progress further. The Marrow is a charred region with a lake of lava and ancient structures. After progressing through the Moss Grotto, you can find yourself in The Marrow. 

• 1. Use 30 Rosaries to activate the bench at the entrance of Deep Docks.
  2. Rest at the bench to mark it as a checkpoint.
  3. Take the exit after heading down to Shakra.
  4. Purchase the Deep Docks map from this NPC.
  5. Jump over the platform on the top right.
  6. Raise the platform by hitting the lever.

2. Hit The First Switch

First Switch Location Deep Docks

Hit the lever in the next chamber to climb up to move to the other area. Hit the switch in this area to open a new path, leading to the next chamber. Make sure you’ve an upgraded needle to kill the creatures in this area.

• Use the needle to defeat these foes.
• Find another switch on the left after you reach the top.

2.1 Past The Bone Deer

Rosary bead is an essential item to collect during the journey to get more Rosaries. Be aware of the hot lava in the biome, as falling on it can cause sudden death. 

1. Defeat all the enemies over there and keep traveling to the right till you find a Rosary bead.
2. The Rosary Bead is on the top.
3. Pass through the lava section of this area.
4. Go over the Bone Deer that is available above the hot lava.

3. Find Red Bee and Red Ant

Red Ant

Red Bee and Red Ant are deadly enemies that can deal massive damage with their slash attacks. Find and defeat them in the first place to move to the next area. The explosive rocks are interactive, orange, glowing rocks that explode when hit. This allows you to open new paths, create platforms, or reveal updrafts. Use an updraft or wind column revealed after the explosion.

1. A path will be opened by hitting the explosive rock on top.
2. Travel to the left and rest at the bench.
3. Collect the Rosaries from the ledge next to you once you move to the left.
4. Return to the opening that you created by hitting the rock.
5. Move up after you get to the open area.
6. Here, you encounter the Red Bee and a Red Ant.

3.1 Return to Shakra

Shakra in Deep Docks

Make your way back to Shakra’s location by moving towards the marker on the map. Purchasing the map from this NPC is essential to know your present location, helping you traverse the region easily.

3.2 How to Find Lost Fleas For Fleamaster Mooshka

In Deep Docks, you will find the Lost Fleas wish by the NPC Fleamaster Mooshka. The Deep Docks map from Shakra will highlight the locations for Fleas.

1. Open the secret area by breaking the wall at the end.
2. Complete the platforming challenge here.
3. Find the Lost Fleas at the end.
4. Make your way back to the middle area.
5. Take the exit route after passing through Shakra.
6. Hit the lever in the area next to you.

4. Defeat Enemies To Collect Rosaries

The enemies are lurking everywhere around the corner, so take them out to gather Rosaries. A gauntlet is a kind of combat challenge where you must fight through multiple waves of enemies in the same room. The more enemies you defeat, the more Rosaries you obtain.

1. Use the elevator to go further down.
2. Hit the lever on the right to find a secret room.
3. There’ll be a Gauntlet that you can avoid for now.
4. Travel to the left and enter the next exit.
5. Move to the platform on the left after dropping down from the next chamber.
6. Defeat all the enemies over there to collect the Rosaries.

4.1 Collect Spool Fragment

Spool Fragment

Spool Fragment is a collectible that increases your maximum Silk. Collecting 2 Spool Fragments raises your Silk capacity by one segment. Collecting the Spool Fragment is essential to upgrading the total amount of Silk that you generate and hold within your shell. After passing through several areas and platforms, you will get your hands on the Spool Fragment.

1. Get to the platform on the right and get inside the next room.
2. Pass through the lava after jumping over it.
3. Hit the lever on the platform once you jump over the stretch of lava.
4. Drop down from the left side to collect the Spool Fragment.

5. Find Forge Daughter

Forge Daughter

Forge-Daughter is an NPC who provides smithing, crafting, and tool services. You can purchase the items from her after passing through the gauntlet. Give her the metal materials you found while progressing to craft a new or upgraded item. Take out the gauntlet and rest at the bench before heading towards the Forge Daughter.

1. Return to the left once you hit the lever and head down.
2. Move back up and travel to the right to encounter a Gauntlet.
3. Defeat the Gauntlet and rest at the bench to save the game and restore health.
4. Getting to the right side will take you to the Forge Daughter.

You can purchase the Silkshot Tool for 240 Rosaries from Forge Daughter to help in the Lace boss fight. 

5.1 How to Beat the Gauntlet

Gauntlet

Clearing the waves of enemies in the gauntlet is essential to make progress further. Pass through multiple rooms to get to the gauntlet. You will be fighting with the gauntlet and red ants in the area, so use the best tools and crest to dominate them. Once you defeat them, you will move to the path to unlock a new ability.

1. Climb up to the area above after leaving the room.
2. Two Red Bees will be there to attack you while you move up.
3. Travel to the left side, as the right one is somehow blocked.
4. Meet the Gauntlet.
5. Make sure to dodge and jump over the dash attacks.
6. It’s a normal enemy, so be sure to use pogo.
7. Defeat the Gauntlet and the Red Ant in this chamber.

6. Unlock Swift Step

Swift Step ability

Swift Step is an Ancestral Art that grants you new mobility options like sprinting and dashing. You can interact with the Weaver tomb to acquire this skill. Along with the Dodge that it provides, it also allows for sprinting and mid-air dashes, which are both key to accessing new areas of Pharloom. Press C on PC, R2 on PlayStation, and RT on Xbox to use this ability when necessary. However, this ability is limitless, meaning you can use it during your journey as much as you want.  

1. Continue moving down to get to the bottom.
2. Hitting the explosive rock is essential here on the right.
3. Move to the left and keep running till you get to the Weaver tomb.
4. Interacting with the tuning mechanism allows you to unlock the Swift Step ability.

7. Find Another Lost Flea

Deep Docks Flea

Get over the platform above you after moving to the left side. Here, you will come across another flea in this chamber. Free the Flea to make progress in completing The Lost Flea quest.

1. Get over the platform above you after moving to the left side.
2. Hit the lever in this area to take the platform downward.
3. You need to move upward to get Flea for the Wish – The Lost Fleas.

8.  Where to Find Lace in Deep Docks

Lace Arena

Lace is the main boss in Deep Docks that you find near the bench at the end of the map. Moving in his arena can be challenging due to the numerous areas and platforms you must go through. To reach Lace in the Deep Docks, you need to have the Swift Step ability (dash). After that, make your way back to the locked gate on the lower right side of the area. Sprint and jump to activate the switch that opens the path, leading to the Lace Arena.

1. Head down to leave this chamber and enter the next one.
2. Go all the way up to the upper platform. This will take you to the area that you couldn’t access before.
3. Hit the lever after moving to the right.
4. Drop down and rest at the bench before getting to the boss arena.

9. How to Defeat Lace

Lace Boss Fight Hollow Knight Silksong

Lace is the main boss of the Deep Dock region and one of its trickiest challenges. The fight takes place on a platform suspended over lava, so every jump and dodge matters — a mistimed move can drop you into the lava and cost you precious health.

Tips to Defeat Lace

• Learn Attack Patterns: Wait for safe openings to punish, rather than rushing for damage.
• Stay Mobile: Keep moving and dodging to avoid her combos.
• Heal Smartly: Use every chance you get Silk back to heal safely.
• Reposition Quickly: Look for gaps in her attacks to regain control of the arena.
• Jump & Counter: Time your jump attacks to strike from above as she finishes her move.
• Use Swift Step: Dash through her attacks if your timing is precise.
• Stay Off Her Line: Position yourself above or below her attack arcs to avoid damage.
• Use Silkshot: Deal ranged damage with Silkshot to stay safe at a distance.
• Bring an Upgraded Needle: A stronger Needle speeds up the fight significantly.

After the Fight

Once Lace is defeated, she vanishes. Proceed to the next room, hit the lever to unlock a new bench, and gain access to the next region: Far Fields.
