Hollow Knight: Silksong – Bellhart Walkthrough

Bellhart in Hollow Knight: Silksong is the next region you’ll unlock after clearing Shellwood and defeating Sister Splinter Boss. Find the Bench in the center area after entering the Bellhart. There are bell objects, hidden paths, walls you can break, and enemies in and around bells. The big bell bugs blocking your path; killing them lets you progress.

You will face the Widow boss in Bellhart. Defeating this boss allows you to unlock Needolin. In this guide, we’ll discuss how to progress in Bellhart in Hollow Knight: Silksong, including tips to defeat Widow.

1. Encounter Flower Bugs

You will reach Flower Bugs after eliminating the Sister Splinter and moving to the left. Take out the Flower Bugs that can deal ranged damage. These Flowers and Wood Wasps are the targets of the ‘Rite of the Pollip’ quest.

Where to Find Flower Bugs

1. Make your way to the left to exit the chamber after defeating the Sister Splinter in Shellwood.
2. Eliminate the shooting plant after moving down the ledge.
3. Travel all the way up towards the spikes once you go through the left.
4. Pass through the flowers after moving up.
5. Landing on these spikes can deal damage, so jump off them.
6. Move to the way after traveling to the left.

2. Take Out Neck Flower

Neck Flowers

Be aware of the Neck Flowers as they can deal damage once you’re closer to them in the area. The best thing you can do is to avoid them by keeping a distance, or just kill them with your upgraded needle. Don’t get too close to them as their attacks are rapid.

Where to Find Neck Flowers 

1. Go through the next chamber and past the water.
2. Defeat the enemies in this area.
3. Pass through the spikes to the other side.
4. Climb up to encounter two neck flowers.

2.1 How to Get Cling Grip

Cling Grip Location

Cling Grip is a skill that allows you to unlock the wall jump, located at the top of the Shellwood region. Interacting with the Weaver tomb grants you this skill. Cling Grip is a traversal ability that allows Hornet to cling to sheer surfaces and leap to vertical platforms. This ability is crucial for general navigation in Bellhart. You can find the Weaver tomb after defeating the enemies on the right of the chamber.

Cling Grip Location

1. Use the needle to take out enemies.
2. Make your way up and travel to the right.
3. Get across to the right after defeating the enemies in this chamber and jump off the flowers.
4. Take the exit and find the Weaver tomb after jumping over the chasm.
5. Interact with the Weaver tomb to unlock Cling Grip.

3. Find Pollip Hearts

Pollip Heart in Bellhart

Pollip Hearts are collected by breaking purple flowers. Collecting six of them allows you to finish a challenge.

How to Get Pollip Hearts

1. Move through the wall on the right side.
2. Take the path to the right after moving up.
3. Use the Cling Grip to get to the other side in the next chamber.
4. Keep moving up and continue moving to the right.
5. Move through the path to the left and drop down.
6. Move to the left side to open the purple nest.
7. Move through this area and head down.
8. Drop down to acquire a Pollip Heart after moving to the right.

3.1. Enter Bellhart

Bellhart

Get inside the Bellhart from the Shellwood after passing through several rooms and defeating the enemies. Once you’ve reached the far end of the Shellwood, you will eventually get inside the Bellhart and find the bells. These silver bells are located in the two bellveins above and below the town of Bellhart.

How to Get Inside Bellhart

1. Travel to the right and to the second path on the right side after moving down.
2. Drop down and move through the path once you move to the right.
3. The path will take you below, where you must move down and take the path to the right.
4. Pass through the flowers and multiple platforms.
5. You can encounter the bells.
6. Create the path to get inside the Bellhart after destroying the bells.

4. Kill the Large Bug Bell

As you create the path to Bellhart by breaking the wall, you will face the Large Bug Bell. Get your hands on the Rosaries once you defeat this enemy, allowing you to gain access to a new path. Rosaries are an essential item to collect during the journey. Use the Rosaries to purchase different items like maps, a quill, a compass, and more from different NPCs.

Where to Find Large Bug Bell

1. Continue your journey while smashing everything to exit the chamber.
2. Drop down after moving to the right.
3. Destroy the wall on the right once you defeat the bug here.
4. Collect the Rosaries next to you.
5. Encounter the large bell bug after moving to the left.
6. Defeat it to progress further.
7. Take out the other one in the narrow opening to the left.

4.1. Pick Up a Rosary String

Rosary Strings

Rosary String is a consumable item that holds Rosary Beads. Collect the Rosary String to purchase the items or activate the bench. Get inside the last chamber after passing through ledges, platforms, and defeating the enemies.

Where to Find Rosary String in Bellhart

1. Use the corpse of the large bell bug to help you while jumping down.
2. Get past the spikes and climb up after moving to the right.
3. Collect Rosaries from the cove on the left.
4. Make your way back to the small opening.
5. Move through after breaking it down.
6. Jump over the gap to destroy the wall on the other side after moving through this area.
7. Locate a sign for a bench in the next area.
8. Defeat all the enemies in this area till the end.
9. Collect the Rosary String from the left ledge after moving up in this new chamber

5. How to Find Widow

Getting to Widow Boss

Widow is the final boss in Bellhart, which is located to the right after getting inside the Bellcatacombs. Once you get to the last chamber after defeating the enemies, you will finally be able to locate the arena of Widow. It’s best to use rosaries to unlock the bench to rest at it to make it a checkpoint. Use the Cling Grip ability to avoid the spikes in the area. Make sure you have full health and equip the best tools and Crest before getting inside the Widow arena.

Widow Location

1. Rest at the bench after dropping down.
2. Go back to the right once you move back by wall clinging.
3. Pass through the spikes by jumping off.
4. Get inside the bell catacombs and drop down.
5. Make your way to the right and head down to reach Widow Arena.

5.1 How to Defeat Widow

Widow

Widow is an assassin-like creature that wields needles and blades to deal damage in combat. She is responsible for the curse cast upon Bellhart.

Tips for Defeating Widow

• Don’t try to rush damage, so focus on dodging the attacks.
• Make sure you have the Drifter’s Cloak and Cling Grip abilities.
• Widow summons bells that fall from above and diagonally. Don’t stand under thread lines.
• She appears in the air, strikes diagonally, then pauses, then does a ground rush with rapid strikes. 
• Consider saving a heal for mid-fight.
• Prioritize survival over damage when her bell attacks happen.
• Use any window after big attacks for high damage.
• A heal during a safe vertical bell attack is good to survive.

6. Unlock Needolin Ability

Needolin Skill Hollow Knight Silksong

Defeating the Widow allows you to unlock Needolin. This ability allows you to play a song with her needle to open locked Weaver Doors, unlock unique dialogues, and reveal hidden paths. Upon acquiring the ability, a cutscene will appear on the screen, allowing you to get inside the next region. The haunted Bellhart will be changed into Bellhart.

1. Move to the weaver area and take the platform to move up.
2. Unlock the door by using the Needolin.
3. Move to the disappearing platforms and move up.
4. Jump on the platform on the left.
5. Watch the cutscene after inspecting the glow on the ground.
