Niphlon is the final and hardest boss to defeat in High on Life 2 due to the multi-phase fight. He’s the G3’s chief of customer liaisons and a secondary antagonist from the previous title. Reaching the Nipulon can be challenging as you progress through the Rhea Pharmaceutical Lab and the Space Supreme Court.
1. Acquire High Security Keycard
Before confronting Nipulon, you must first fight through Rhea Pharmaceutical Lab to reach higher floors and obtain a high-security keycard required for vertical progression.
1.1 Prepare and Enter the Lab
- Visit Jorb’s shop to buy effective weapon upgrades to prepare.
- Board the RV and travel left in Circuit Arcadia toward Rhea Pharmaceuticals.
- Enter the courtyard by taking the stairs upward.
Upon entering the lab lobby, waves of bounty hunters will attack — use your best weapons to eliminate them. After clearing the courtyard enemies, take the elevator to the fifth floor.
1.2 Defeat Floor Enemies and Obtain Keycard
- Exit the elevator and defeat the next group of enemies.
- Proceed through the hallway into a room guarded by Blue Wizard’s henchmen and allies; eliminate them quickly.
- In the next room, defeat the uniformed enemy to obtain the High Security Keycard.
2. Accept bounty on Nipulon
With the keycard in hand, you must advance toward the top of the lab and then claim Nipulon’s bounty.
2.1 Ascend and Fight Higher Enemies
- Use the keycard to access the lab’s upper floors via the elevator.
- On the topmost floor, eliminate all bounty hunters and prepare to fight a mini‑boss among the enemies.
2.2 Handle the Mini‑Boss Fight
Avoid staying close to the mini‑boss; use ranged weapons and movement to defeat him. Although this mini‑boss has extra health, proper positioning and weapon choice make the fight manageable.
2.3 Accept Nipulon Bounty
After defeating these enemies, Helen explains that Nipulon has already fled.
- Proceed to the Bounty Hunter Museum and interact with Bounty 5000 to accept the Nipulon bounty contract.
- Activate the portal to the Supreme Space Court to begin the next phase.
3. Court Hearing
Instead of jumping straight into a boss fight, the Nipulon bounty throws you into a Supreme Court trial where you must argue whether humans are legally sentient. Your choices affect how the scene plays out, but all paths eventually lead to the Super Nipulon boss fight.
3.1 Present Your Case
During the hearing, you’re given multiple chances to submit evidence, call witnesses, or react to Nipulon’s arguments.
- Strong evidence path: Presenting solid witnesses and arguments causes the court to rule in your favor.
- Weak evidence path: Poor or incomplete evidence results in the court ruling against you.
- Violent interruption: Shooting Nipulon during the trial is treated as an illegal act and immediately turns the court against you.
3.2 Triggering the Verdict
If you follow the strong-evidence route, the court officially sides with humanity. Use an interactive moment where you can crumple up sheets of paper and shoot them into a basket on the left side of the courtroom. Nipulon’s outburst counts as a loss for him, meaning you technically win the case.
No matter the outcome, Nipulon ultimately snaps and initiates combat.
3.3 Tips for Winning Court Case
While the verdict doesn’t skip the boss fight, playing the trial correctly gives you the cleanest outcome and dialogue.
- Do not shoot Nipulon during the hearing unless you want an instant loss.
- Object frequently and challenge Nipulon’s statements.
- Call Griffin P. Spencer as a witness.
- Call your parents when prompted.
- Object to the additional witness Nipulon tries to introduce.
- Keep a distance from Apples and call Tiffany to defend humanity.
- Ignore aggressive or hostile prompts until the court finishes deliberating.
Once the court rules, Nipulon loses control and attacks, transitioning the mission into the Super Nipulon boss fight.
4. How To Defeat Super Nipulon
Super Nipulon is a unique multi‑stage boss fight featuring hallucination sequences, clone encounters, and a final corridor battle. The fight begins in Nipulon’s office once he attacks after the court ruling.
4.1 Office Combat
- As the fight begins, engage Nipulon immediately with your preferred weapons — high fire‑rate guns like Gus or Sweezy work well.
- Nipulon uses burst fire and projectiles; dodge and take cover behind furniture whenever possible.
- Once his health drops to around 60 – 70%, he emits a hallucinogenic gas which ends this phase.
4.2 First Hallucination & Clone Encounter
After the gas, you’re transported into a psychedelic environment where Nipulon creates multiple clones.
- Look for the real Nipulon among the clones — he is identifiable by his orange skin and distinct coloration compared to greenish fakes.
- Focus fire on the Orange one. Most clones have very low health, but only the real Nipulon’s damage counts toward progress.
- Reduce his health until the next hallucination trigger occurs.
4.3 Rotating Clone Sphere
In the next sequence, clones form a rotating sphere that shoots at you.
- Avoid lasers and projectiles while scanning the sphere.
- Identify and damage the true Nipulon again, using weapons like Sweezy for accuracy or Gus for burst damage.
- Keep shooting and rotating weapons until his health is sufficiently low (approx. 10‑30%). This phase ends with another transition.
4.4 Retrieve Your Gatlians
The next portion drops you into a dream world where your weapons are separated. You’ll see scattered platforms with your four Gatlians (Kenny, Gus, Sweezy, Creature).
- Locate and pick up each weapon gun, using the environment to reach them.
- Once all four are collected, a portal appears — enter it to begin the final corridor phase.
4.5 Corridor and Final Confrontation
You are dropped into a long hallway filled with Nipulon clones blocking the path to the real boss.
- Move forward while shooting clones; your goal is to clear a path to the final area.
- Use all four Gatlians for maximum firepower and spacing.
- At the end of the corridor, you’ll face the real Nipulon again in the office environment.
- Deliver the finishing blow — at close range, interact to use Knifey for the cinematic kill, and earn 10,000 pesos.
