Once all three are collected, the Ball Gun appears in your base, ready to use.
1. How to Unlock B.A.L.L. Gun
The B.A.L.L. Gun is one of the most chaotic weapons in the game. It fires bouncing projectiles that ricochet off surfaces and enemies unpredictably, making it powerful in enclosed spaces and fun for creative combat approaches. This weapon was originally featured in DLC for the first game and now returns as an unlockable secret weapon in the base game.
You need to follow these requirements to unlock the secret gun:
- You must collect three separate Ball Guys hidden around the game world to unlock the weapon.
- Each Ball Guy is obtained through a different activity (dance mini‑game, side quest, or fishing).
- The weapon only appears after all three Ball Guys are found and you return to your base.
1.1 Ball Guy #1 — Liquid Nights Dance Battle

The first Ball Guy is awarded by completing a fun rhythm mini‑game inside a nightclub. To get this Ball Guy, you must first progress far enough in the story to unlock Bowie’s special ability, which is required to open the nightclub door in Pinkline Harbor. Here’s how to get the reward:
- Travel to Pinkline Harbor in the southern part of the hub.
- Find the Liquid Nights nightclub entrance and use Bowie’s ability to break the barrier.
- Enter the club and approach the DJ booth, where the DJs initiate a dance mini‑game.
- Complete the rhythm challenge by hitting prompts in time with the music. Perfect timing isn’t required — just do well enough to satisfy the judges.
- After completing this challenge, you’re rewarded with the first Ball Guy.
1.2 Ball Guy #2 — Circuit Arcadia Taxi Side Quest

The second Ball Guy comes from a hidden taxi driver quest in Circuit Arcadia. This Ball Guy isn’t marked on your map, so you need to explore Circuit Arcadia to find the taxi that starts the quest. Here’s how to get Second Ball Guy:
- From the central fast travel point in Circuit Arcadia, head north until you see a broken taxi engulfed in flames.
- Speak with the driver Clutch to begin the taxi side quest.
- Look for NPCs with flag icons above their heads — these are passengers needing rides.
- Pick up passengers and deliver them to their destinations. Continue making deliveries until you’ve completed a total of about ten rides.
- Once most rides are complete, return to Clutch. He becomes your final passenger, and when you deliver him to his destination, you’ll receive the second Ball Guy as a reward.
Note: You can still complete the quest even if some passengers are lost or take long, as long as you finish all required deliveries.
1.3 Ball Guy #3 — Fishing in Circuit Arcadia Zoo
Pinkline Harbor
The third Ball Guy is hidden as a rare catch at a fishing spot inside the Circuit Arcadia Zoo. Before you can fish for this Ball Guy, you must first obtain a fishing rod from a friendly fisherman near the beach in Pinkline Harbor. Follow these steps for Third Ball Guy:
- In Pinkline Harbor, go to the beach area where a fisherman sits near a boat.
- Interact with him and then use Travis’s ability to free the stuck boat.
- After freeing the boat, speak to the fisherman again — he will give you the fishing rod (Rod).
- Travel to Circuit Arcadia Zoo and locate the southern fishing spot next to the exhibit area.
- Equip the fishing rod and cast your line. You’ll catch various fish — one of them appears as a golden or sparkling fish that is actually the third Ball Guy in disguise.
- Continue fishing until you hook this rare catch to obtain the third Ball Guy. It may take several tries for the rare sparkly fish to appear.
2. How to Equip B.A.L.L. Gun

After collecting all three Ball Guys, here’s how to finally get the weapon. Once you’ve collected all three Ball Guys:
- Fast travel back to your base.
- Head to the area near your wanted poster and fridge — you should see a small enclosure or container.
- The Ball Gun will be sitting on top of this container.
- Interact with the weapon to officially unlock it and add it to your arsenal.
- You’ll also unlock the “B.A.L.L. In The Family” achievement for completing this collectible set.
Note: You can collect the Ball Guys in any order as long as you complete their associated activities.
