High on Life 2 – Complete Murder Mystery Guide

Solving the murder mystery correctly requires more than guessing the killer. Learn every evidence location, all mandatory suspect questions, and the exact accusation responses needed to prove guilt and earn the Columbo in Space trophy.

The Murder Mystery in High on Life 2 is one of the game’s most memorable and deceptive segments, dropping you into a fully playable whodunit that rewards careful observation over brute force.

During the mission where you track Larry Pinkstock aboard the Pinkline Panacea cruise ship, the scenario suddenly turns into a murder mystery party — and you have to investigate who killed him by collecting evidence, interviewing all suspects, and then accusing the culprit correctly.

1. How to Start the Murder Mystery in High on Life 2

Talking to Travis

Talking to Travis

The murder mystery begins during the Larry Pinkstock bounty mission aboard the luxury cruise ship Pinkline Panacea. Progress the main story until you’re sent to the beach area connected to Pinkstock’s bounty. You’ll meet Travis, who mentions the Pinkline Panacea and reveals he has an extra ticket.

Travis will not give you the ticket unless you respond positively during the conversation. You must select:

  • “We’re just out on the town.”
  • “Let’s just have a good time!”

Murder Mystery clues

Choosing these lines keeps Travis cooperative and allows the mission to continue without delay. After the conversation, a series of cutscenes plays. You board the Pinkline Panacea and begin searching for Larry Pinkstock. You eventually reach a hidden VIP room, fight several enemies, and finally locate Larry.

Instead of finding Pinkstock alive, you discover his corpse — this immediately triggers the murder mystery investigation.

Before you can accuse anyone, you must collect every physical clue in the VIP room. Missing even one can lock dialogue options and invalidate the achievement. After finding each clue, revisit suspects — more dialogue options can appear as your investigation progresses.

2.1 All 13 Clues Locations

  • Music Class Photo – On the side table beside the stage where Pinkstock died. (Connects to O.B.’s brother)
  • Inhaler – Inside the giant cake (punch the cake until you find it).
  • Stains on Body – Interact with Larry Pinkstock’s corpse. (Yellow stains provide forensic detail.)
  • Detention Slip – Behind the evidence counter in the center.
  • Medical ID Card – On the toppled sofa near the center (Edeline’s card).
  • Crime Evidence Photo – Underneath the sofa (requires bumping it).
  • Admiral Sessions Military Order – Counter next to a bookcase near Sessions.
  • 500,000 Peso Check – On the other side of the counter, behind O.B. (a payment from Pinkstock)
  • Honorable Service Record – Back of the counter (Session’s military background).
  • Milk Carton – Spilled near the entrance in the middle.
  • Newspaper Clipping – Small table near entrance (context/background).
  • Divorce Decree – Showcase shelf left of Sessions.
  • Sharpshooting Competition Trophy – Showcase shelf right of Sessions (proves firearm experience).

2.2 Interview All Suspects

Talk to each suspect (Sessions, Oberon, Twelfth, Moss) and exhaust every dialogue choice. This ensures that their profiles update with new revelations about motives, backgrounds, and personal connections to the victim.

You can also use Travis’s detection ability at times to identify the perfume scent around the body — this helps identify who was wearing matching perfume.

2.3 Admiral Sessions — Profile & Questions

Admirall Session interrogation

Admirall Session interrogation

Admiral Sessions is a grizzled military leader. He has experience with firearms and served in harsh campaigns, but his age, injuries, and military background make his story complicated. Select these dialogues:

  • Ask his opinion on the prince (Pinkstock).
  • Ask about experience with firearms. (Establishes if he can handle a gun.)
  • Sniff his hand. (Perfume detection.)
  • Ask about the military service record.
  • Ask about Pinkstock & orphans.
  • Ask about the military order.

These lines flesh out his past, verify his combat history, and test motive/scent.

2.4 O.B. Oberon — Profile & Questions

O.B. OBERON interrogation

O.B. OBERON interrogation

O.B. Oberon is a glamorous opera star with a secret past that ties deeply into Pinkstock’s personal history. Her connection to a tragic family event and her poised demeanor make her a central suspect. Select these dialogues:

  • Ask about Admiral Sessions.
  • Sniff her hand. (Rosy perfume clue.)
  • Ask about the perfume.
  • Ask about experience with firearms.
  • Ask about her music school.
  • Ask about the check.
  • Ask if she was an orphan experimented on.
  • Ask if O.B. Oberon is her real name.

These interactions reveal motive, background, and personal linkage to the crime.

2.5 Richard Twelfth the Eighth — Profile & Questions

Richard Twelfth the Eighth appears regal and enigmatic, but there’s more beneath the surface. His eccentric behavior and odd background clues warrant investigation. Select these dialogues:

  • Sniff his hand.
  • Ask about experience with firearms.
  • Ask about the inhaler.
  • Ask about the detention slip.
  • Ask if he killed someone with a car.
  • Ask if Oberon and the Admiral have the same perfume.

These lines confirm his physical ability (or lack thereof) and test environmental connections.

2.6 Edeline Moss — Profile & Questions

Edeline Moss interrogation

Edeline Moss brings a personal link to the victim through past marriage, but her physical condition and background raise questions about her capacity to pull off the murder itself. Select these dialogues:

  • Ask about experience with firearms.
  • Ask about marriage with Pinkstock.
  • Ask if Oberon and the Admiral have the same perfume.

These exchanges help rule her in or out and contextualize her motive.

2.7 Make the Correct Accusation

Accussing O.B. Oberon

Accussing O.B. Oberon

Once all evidence is collected and all suspect dialogue exhausted, approach the center of the room to present your conclusion. The game now expects both a suspect and specific reasoning to accept the verdict and unlock the achievement. Select:

  1. Choose: O.B. Oberon
  2. When asked, “Why…” → “Because Pinkstock is responsible for her brother’s death”
  3. When challenged → “She’s wearing a rosy perfume”
  4. Follow-up → “She won a shooting competition trophy”
  5. Final → “Nobody else could have fired the shot”

These selections tie together motive (family revenge), scent evidence, firearm proficiency, and an exclusive opportunity to logically prove Oberon’s guilt.

3. How to Unlock Columbo in Space Achievement

Once completed, the investigation wraps up, and the mission continues — often with a humorous twist revealing that Pinkstock’s corpse was actually a clone used as bait for the mystery. There is a hidden achievement tied to this whole event, and to earn the achievement, you must:

  • Collect all 13 pieces of evidence
  • Exhaust every suspect’s dialogue options
  • Make the accusation with all the correct reasoning options above
  • Avoid skipping evidence or dialogue — missing any will prevent the achievement.
