Heartopia is one of those life simulations that features all sorts of hobbies like cooking, gardening, foraging, making friends with animals, and more. To get your home looking beautiful, you will want to plant all sorts of flowers in an array of colors. But first, you will need to upgrade your green thumb skills.
1. How to Unlock Flower Seeds and Crossbreeding
Gardening is a hobby you will unlock during the first tutorial with the NPC named Blanc. Get it up to level three in order to unlock flowers and crossbreeding. Raising your gardening level to three is easy, but it will be time consuming.
- Go to Blanc.
- Buy Tomato Seeds and as many Planters as you can.
- At your home, line up the Planters, and plant tomato seeds in all of them.
- They will take 15 minutes to ripen enough to pick.
- Each tomato will get you about 2-4 Gardening points at this point.
- Keep planting and growing tomatoes until you hit level 3. Tomatoes have the fastest ROI, so they are the best to use while you are actively playing.
All Produce Seeds
In order to level up your planting skills, you will need to earn Gardening Proficiency points by harvesting produce or flowers. Each plant you grow will give you points based on its growing time and its star status. For example, one-star tomatoes give 2 points, but two-star tomatoes give 4 points. Tomatoes and Pineapples give the best rate of points per hour as well as the highest gold per hour while you are actively playing.
Missing information will be added as it becomes available!

How to Raise Your Produce’s Star Levels
It’s important to level your fruits and veggies up as high as you can to get as many points as possible. There are only a couple of ways to do this in Heartopia.
- Weed the plants as they grow as often as you can.
- Use fertilizer, which can be purchased from Blanc or crafted at a workbench.
- Raise your Gardening Proficiency level to get better plants.
2. How to Grow Flowers and Crossbreed Them in Heartopia
Now that your Gardening Proficiency is finally level 3, head back to Blanc. He will have your first flower seeds: red and white daisies. You have a strict limit of 12 flowers at your home for now, so you won’t need too many seeds to get started.
- Level 3-4: Up to 12 flowers can be planted on your property.
- Level 5-7: Up to 24 flowers.
- Level 8-9: Up to 40 flowers.
- Level 10+: Up to 60 flowers.
Crossbreeding works by placing different flowers next to one another in pairs. To get your first two-star pink daisies, you need to plant white and red daisies next to each other; putting space in between flowers of the same color is paramount.
As long as the red daisies are only touching white daisies and vice versa, you should end up with only two-star seeds from crossbreeding. Once the daisies are properly laid out, you will need to water them daily.
Crossbreeding and Star Level/Color Information for Daisies
To crossbreed all the different types of daisies, you need to breed two daisies that are within two levels of one another, with their stars adding up to the number of stars you are aiming for or more, with the exception of the five-star, which needs two four-stars to appear. Flowers must be fully grown to crossbreed.

How to Get Your Seed
There are two ways to pick up a seed once it has spawned; you can either pick the flower underneath it, or you can just get close enough to the seed to suck it up into you inventory to let the plant itself live another day. If you choose to pick the flower, you will need to replant it to keep crossbreeding as the whole plant disappears when flowers are picked.
3. Rainbow Breeding Powder in Heartopia
There is an item that guarantees you will get a successful crossbreed between two flowers if used: the Rainbow Breeding Powder. You only need to use it on one of the flowers in a pairing.
- Set a pairing of fully-grown flowers away from others to make sure the Rainbow Powder ends up on the right pairing.
- Use the Rainbow Powder on one of the flowers.
- Water the pair of flowers daily.
- A seed will appear after a day or so, depending on the rarity of seed you are after.
- You can earn more Rainbow Breeding Powders by completing certain quests, and you can purchase them from Blanc after level 6 Garden Proficiency.
