The Armor of Shadows is one of the most sought-after armor sets in Crimson Desert, combining strong defensive value with unique abilities and one of the best visual designs in the game. Unlike standard gear, this set is split across multiple locations and encounters, with both exploration-based pickups and a major boss reward tied to it.
1. Plate Armor of Shadows Set Pieces
The Armor of Shadows (also referred to as Plate Armor of the Shadows) is a multi-piece set. It’s designed as an early-to-mid game high-tier armor set, offering strong survivability while also enabling ability-based combat through Abyss Gear interactions.
- Plate Cloak of Shadows
- Plate Armor of Shadows
- Plate Boots of Shadows
- Plate Gloves of Shadows
- Plate Helm of Shadows
2. All Plate Armor of Shadows Locations
The Plate Armor of Shadows set in Crimson Desert is spread across multiple hidden locations rather than a single reward. Finding all five requires careful exploration, attention to environmental details, and progression through key story content.
2.1. Plate Cloak of Shadows Location
The Plate Cloak of Shadows is one of the earliest pieces you can pick up, but it’s also one of the easiest to miss. The Plate Cloak of Shadows is located within Hoenmark Ruins, in the Hernand region.
It’s hidden beneath the ruins themselves, inside a concealed underground chamber that isn’t visible from the surface and can only be accessed by breaking through a specific section of the floor.
2.1.1. How to Get Plate Cloak of Shadows
- Enter Hoenmark Ruins and move deeper into the structure
- Stay on the main ruin pathways until you reach an area with stone floor tiles
- Look closely for a section where the tiles appear slightly different in color and texture
- Crouch and use Force Palm while positioned on them. The ground will break open, revealing a hidden drop
- Open the chest to grab the Plate Cloak of Shadows and light the lantern to unlock the door to get out.
2.2. Plate Armor of Shadows Location
The Plate Armor of Shadows is the core chest piece of the set, and while it’s easier to obtain than some of the other parts, its location blends naturally into the terrain. The Plate Armor of Shadows is found near the Everfrost Watchtower, along the rocky cliffs of the Argent Peaks.
It’s hidden inside a small cave carved into the cliffside, with no obvious markers pointing to it unless you’re actively scanning the area.
2.2.1. How to Get Plate Armor of Shadows
- Travel to the area surrounding Everfrost Watchtower and move along the nearby rocky cliffs
- Look carefully for a small cave entrance embedded into the rock face
- Enter the cave and proceed inside until you reach the interior section
- Locate the lamp/brazier inside the cave and interact with it
- Lighting it clears the obstruction and reveals the hidden loot
- Open the chest to collect the Plate Armor of Shadows
2.3. Plate Boots of Shadows Location
The Plate Boots of Shadows are hidden inside Frostclaw Cave, but reaching them requires using a traversal mechanic rather than simply following a path. The Plate Boots of Shadows are located deep within Frostclaw Cave, behind a waterfall that initially appears to block further progress.
The hidden section behind the waterfall is not accessible through normal movement, making this one of the more easily overlooked pieces.
2.3.1. How to Get Plate Boots of Shadows
- Head to Frostclaw Cave and enter the interior
- Make your way down toward the lower section of the cave
- Continue until you reach a waterfall that blocks the path forward
- Stand slightly to the left side at the base of the waterfall
- Charge a Stab attack and move forward through it
- This will allow you to pass through the waterfall into a hidden area
- Inside, collect the Plate Boots of Shadows from the chest
2.4. Plate Gloves of Shadows Location
The Plate Gloves of Shadows are placed in a remote cave that requires pushing beyond the obvious path and using vertical traversal to reach. The Plate Gloves of Shadows are located inside Everfrost Cave, which sits above a riverbank in the northern region.
The path deliberately misleads with a boundary warning, making it seem like the route ends before the actual entrance.
2.4.1 How to Get Plate Gloves of Shadows
- Travel toward the Everfrost region and follow the riverbank path
- Continue forward until you receive an “end of the world” warning
- Instead of turning back, look for climbable terrain nearby
- Begin climbing upward along the rocky surface
- At the top, locate the entrance to Everfrost Cave
- Enter the cave and move through the interior
- Find the loot point inside and collect the Plate Gloves of Shadows
2.5. Plate Helm of Shadows Location
The Plate Helm of Shadows is the final piece of the set and the only one tied directly to story progression. The Plate Helm of Shadows is obtained in Hoenmark Ruins during Chapter 6, as part of a boss encounter. This piece cannot be acquired early and requires advancing through a significant portion of the main campaign.
2.5.1. How to Get Plate Helm of Shadows
- Progress through the main story until you reach Chapter 6
- Follow the questline that leads back to Hoenmark Ruins
- Trigger the boss fight against Beloth the Darksworn
- Defeat the boss to complete the objective
- Loot the reward marked as a quest objective after the fight to obtain the Plate Helm of Shadows
NOTE: Progressing through the main story and defeating Beloth the Darksworn will reward you with Helm, Armor, and Gloves.
