Collector's Cove All Sakura Shores Fabled Crops and Fish

Sakura Shores is the second region you unlock as you rise the ranks as a Collector in Collector’s Cove, along with Haunted Harbors. This Asian-inspired region with its pretty cherry blossom trees is home to 20 Fabled species that you can discover and fill your Compendium with.

10 Fabled crops can be found here, as well as 10 Fabled fish. We’ll help you get all of them, including the later-unlocked Fabled species, by going through each one and the Fabled Conditions for finding them.

1. How to Get Fabled Species in Collector’s Cove

Acquiring Fabled species in Collector’s Cove is one of your main tasks in achieving the status of Named Collector, which is your ultimate goal. Without Fabled species, you cannot make it to the coveted Collector’s Cove, or even the other regions beyond Tropical Trove. Therefore, your focus throughout the game should be on getting these.

There are two types of Fabled species in Collector’s Cove: crops and fish. Crops are grown on your boat in planters, while fish are caught in the sea and ponds. To get the elusive Fabled species, you must take specific steps to access them. The method for crops and fish are similar, but respective of their activities.

1.1. Growing Fabled Crops

To get Fabled crops in Collector’s Cove, you must take these steps:

  1. Purchase or obtain seeds and grow them on your boat. You must harvest a crop a specific number of times to unlock its fertilizer recipe.
  2. Create the fertilizer with the required resources, then add them to your crop. Once harvested a certain number of times with fertilizer added, you learn the crop’s Fabled Condition.
  3. When growing the crop, complete the requirements of the Fabled Condition needed to produce the Fabled crop, with fertilizer added.
  4. Harvest the Fabled crop when produced, which adds it to your Compendium.
Seeds.

The road to getting a Fabled crop starts with a bag of seeds.

1.1.1. How to Create Fertilizer

Adding fertilizer is mandatory if you want to produce a Fabled crop. If you don’t, even if you meet the Fabled Conditions, the Fabled crop won’t appear.

Fertilizer can be made with the compost bin. Making fertilizer is a straightforward process and takes these steps:

  1. Gather the required resources to make the crop’s fertilizer.
  2. Approach the compost bin and select the fertilizer for your crop to add it to the queue. Press Start to begin making the fertilizer.
  3. Wait for the fertilizer to finish being created, then collect it so it’s added to your inventory.

For every fertilizer you make at the compost bin, 5 batches are created. When you harvest a plant that has had fertilizer added, the fertilizer is used up. You’ll need to add the fertilizer again if you want to use it on the same plant, especially if it’s a reproducing crop such as a tree.

Fertilizer.

Without fertilizer, you cannot produce a Fabled crop, so don’t forget to add it.

1.2. Catching Fabled Fish

To get Fabled fish in Collector’s Cove, you need to do the following:

  1. Catch a fish a specific number of times to unlock its bait recipe.
  2. Create the bait at a bait maker, then use the bait to catch the fish a specific number of times to unlock its Fabled Condition.
  3. With the bait, follow the Fabled Condition to catch the Fabled fish.

1.2.1. How to Create Bait

Using fish bait is necessary for catching Fabled fish. Without it, even if you’ve done everything the Fabled Condition asks, the Fabled fish won’t materialize.

Bait can be made using the bait maker on your boat. Making bait requires these steps:

  1. Gather the needed resources to make the fish’s bait.
  2. Interact with the bait maker and add the bait to the queue. Press Start to begin the process.
  3. Wait for the bait maker to finish, then collect the bait.

Each bait made at the bait maker creates 5 batches to use. Every time you catch the fish that matches the bait, one bait is used. When catching fish with bait, including Fabled fish, you may need to take into account the time of day and water source.

Bait.

Don’t forget your bait when hunting for those elusive Fabled fish.

1.3. Using Fabled Species

After harvesting or catching a Fabled species for the first time, it is automatically added to your Collector’s Compendium. You also need to use Strengthen Fabled Bond with your companion using the Fabled species you’ve just discovered.

You can continue to grow and catch Fabled species after your initial discovery. You can feed it to your companion for stamina, or sell it at the merchants for good money. Fabled crops tend to be more valuable than Fabled fish, so focus on growing those if you’re looking to make serious money.

Make sure to feed your companion a Fabled Species after acquiring it.

2.6. Foxberry

  • Crop: Raspberry
  • Fertilizer Resources: Koi, Zander, Giant Snakehead

2.6.1. Fabled Condition for Foxberry

Acquiring a Foxberry is a delicate process. It can be tricky, not to mention temperamental. It requires a little trial-and-error – and being quick to react.

To turn a raspberry into a Foxberry, you need to wait until it becomes harvestable, then turn the camera away so that you’re not looking at it. If done right, the plant should transform. However, you do not have long to harvest the Foxberry. If you wait too long, it will turn back into a raspberry. Therefore, you must harvest it the moment it turns into a Foxberry so you don’t miss your opportunity.

Here are some tips for increasing your chances of producing and acquiring at least one Foxberry:

  • Grow multiple raspberry crops, all with fertilizer added, so you have a better chance of getting a Foxberry.
  • Leave the raspberries to grow, only tending to them when watering them. Check on them now and again to see if they’re ready to harvest.
  • Once ready to harvest, carefully edge the camera near to the raspberries. Check to see if they are Foxberries or raspberries. Foxberries are white and red and look like a flower.
  • If none of your raspberries have turned into a Foxberry, try moving away from them, turning the camera, heading inside your boat, or visiting an island and coming back to them.
  • As soon as you spot that a raspberry has become a Foxberry, run towards it and harvest it quickly. You have a short window of a few seconds
  • When harvesting a Foxberry, make sure your inventory is not full, otherwise you won’t be able to add it to your inventory and harvest it!
  • If your Foxberries turn back into raspberries, walk away or turn away from the raspberries and try again to see if they turn back into Foxberries.
