With the Total War Test launching April 24, the developers of Warborne Above Ashes have rolled out an extensive balance patch touching nearly every aspect of the game. From Drifter stat tuning to overhauls of weapon skills and tactical items, this is the most detailed and impactful PTR update yet.
Here’s a full summary of the changes you need to know before entering the warzone.
Drifter Attribute Changes
- Strength: Now grants Control Resistance and bonus damage vs. mobs. Max HP slightly reduced.
- Agility: Boosts Physical Damage, Crit Rate, Attack Speed, and Tenacity Penetration.
- Intelligence: Separated Magic Damage and Healing bonuses, with better Cooldown Rate scaling.
Goal: Increase attribute diversity and give tanks better PvE scaling while reducing meta-dominance of INT builds.
Equipment Attribute Updates
- Melee weapons: All melee classes gain +0.3 m/s Movement Speed.
- Helmets & Boots: INT and AGI-based gear now provide bonus mana regen (+5% or +10%).
This improves battlefield mobility for close-range fighters and improves mana access for hybrid builds.
Skill Balance and Reworks
Notable changes to E-skills:
- Sandstorm Dominion: Cooldown reduced, Silence and Slow duration increased.
- Frozen Maelstrom: Now applies Frozen for 3s and slows more reliably.
- Magma Slam: Cooldown halved, allowing tanks to engage more often.
- Protector’s Radiance: Now deals Magic Damage and scales higher with absorbed energy.
- Flamecore Rampage: Major buffs to Attack Speed and Critical Rate. Now a dangerous burst skill.
Other key changes include:
- Cooldown reductions for most hard CC abilities.
- More viable stealth counterplay via Silence, Reveal, and Buff Dispel.
- Mana costs and regeneration fully rebalanced across the board.
Drifter Passives Adjusted
- Shattered Ice: Damage resistance kept, but AoE damage lowered from 100% to 80%.
- Acid Leak: Cooldown adjusted; now reduces enemy damage by 25%.
- Rageforged (reworked): New shield-based mechanics, builds energy when armor is broken.
Weapon Skill Updates (Basic & Passive)
- Many weapon basics like Sword Slash, Smash, Spear Scar and Cyclone Slash received higher damage rates and better cooldowns.
- Shield Slam and Jump Cleave now have meaningful crowd control and resistance shredding.
- Healing basics such as Healing Seed and Holy Heal now heal for less, but remain consistent.
Q/W/D/F Skills Rebalancing
- Defensive Slash: Post-block attack damage massively increased, making it a real threat.
- Field of Silence: Cooldown cut in half. Duration extended for PvP viability.
- Lance Recall, Skyward Lance, and Bladewheel Throw: Damage buffs and mobility improvements.
- Phase Shift, Escape, and Vitality: Dash-based boots received better cooldowns and range boosts.
Many utility skills now favor teamplay or reward good positioning, giving tanks and supports more strategic value.
Tactical Item Changes
Potions & Consumables:
- Titan Potions: Duration reduced to 6 seconds, but stats preserved.
- Rejuvenix Flasks: Cooldowns halved, sustain is more accessible.
- Instant Aid Vials: Flat HP heal slightly reduced but still powerful for emergencies.
Utility Tools:
- Mass Haste Matrix: Now lasts 9s and affects a larger radius (20m).
- Venom Sac: Prevents movement abilities and slows all targets in area.
- Aegis Draughts: Buff duration extended, now provides full control immunity + debuff cleanse.
- Mass Stealth Device: Duration extended to 20 seconds. Great for ambushes.
