It’s time my fellow DOOM slayers, DOOM: The Dark Ages will finally be in our hands this month. In the prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal, experience an epic cinematic story showcasing the DOOM Slayer’s rage. Bound to serve as the super weapon of gods and kings, the DOOM Slayer fends off demon hordes sent by their demonic leader. They seek to destroy the slayer so that they can become the only one that is feared. Witness the creation of a legend as the Slayer takes on all of Hell and turns the tide of the war.
As the super weapon of gods and kings, you’ll use an arsenal of devastating weapons. Some fan favourites return, like the Super Shotgun that allows you to shred enemies with one shot. You’ll also get to rip and tear with new bone-chewing weapons, including the versatile Shield Saw. Explore never-before-seen realms filled with mystery, challenges and rewards. In your crusade, you’ll visit ruined castles, epic battlefields, dark forests, ancient hellscapes, and worlds beyond. Elden Ring Nightreign
| Release | 30th May 2025 |
| Developer | From Software, Inc |
| Publisher | From Software, Inc/Bandai Namco Entertainment |
| Platform | PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S |
| Price | $39.99 |
Finally, we have a game that most people didn’t think we’d be getting a standalone game, but Elden Ring Nightreign is releasing this month. In this standalone adventure to game of the year winner, Elden Ring, this new game offers players a reimagining of FromSoft’s core design. Join forces with up to three players in co-op and take on the creeping night and the dangers within. It contains RPG elements like character levelling, dungeon exploring, and the intense combat FromSoftware is known for.
Unlike in their other games, Nightreign has you pick from a cast of characters, all with their own unique abilities and storylines. Nightreign works similarly to Battle Royale games, where your objective is to survive through three day and night cycles. You’ll fight one of several small but formidable bosses each day and take on one of the Nightlords on the final day. During the night, the map will begin to shrink, forcing you and your allies to come together to defeat the boss. You can play the game solo, however, it will be a more punishing experience, so having a friend or two may be the best option.
