Top 8 Best Games Releasing in June (2025)

Welcome back for another round of what we believe are the best games releasing for the month. Last month, there were some exciting releases with DOOM: The Dark Ages and Elden Ring Nightreign, which brought us hours of joy. This time, our focus is on June, featuring a great mixture of different genres. We have new entries to popular franchises, including one on an entirely new console and some fun AA/Indie games. Enough of my rambling, let us get down to business and show you what we believe are the best games for June (2025).

Mario Kart World

Go full speed with series-new drivers, vehicles, courses, outfits, items, and more!

Starting our list is one of the first new games releasing for the Nintendo Switch 2, Mario Kart World. Nintendo have gathered Mario and his friends (and foes) for more wacky races. However, in a surprising twist, all the courses you race on are connected in a seamless world. Take in the sprawling vistas as you explore the world while traversing from one course to another. Mario Kart World brings brand-new and familiar courses that have been reimagined with additional routes and other details. Play as your usual favourites (Waluigi dominance!) or experience new racers, all with different outfits to unlock and plenty of vehicles to master. 

Ride on rails, jump off walls, skim across water, and more as you race for the finish line. Another new addition is the increase in drivers, with up to 24 racers on one track. This increased roster is available both online and locally to further increase the competition. Take on the classic Grand Prix or brand new game modes. In Knockout Tour, race from one corner of the world to another, where racers are steadily eliminated, checkpoint by checkpoint, until only one remains. Fan favourite modes like Balloon Battle and Coin Runners return to provide even more mayhem in the next evolution of Mario Kart. 

Dune: Awakening

Next, we have a multiplayer survival game set in the grand sci-fi world of Dune. Developed by the creators of Conan Exiles, Dune: Awakening offers the ultimate story and survival experience. Dune: Awakening is set in an alternative timeline where you begin the game as a prisoner sent to Arrakis to uncover the mystery of the Fremen’s disappearance. From then on, you are free to explore Arakis any way you choose. Glide, climb, and speed across Arrakis using iconic Dune tech such as ornithopters and suspensor belts. Seek the shadows to escape the scorching sun, craft stillsuits, and extract water from your enemies to stay hydrated. 

Play alone or with friends in a world consisting of hundreds of players. You can choose to group up and explore ancient Ecology Labs, collaborate creatively in crafting bases with a robust building system, or you can visit the Arrakken and Harko Village social hubs. PvP is also available, participate in major ground-and-air battles in the Deep Desert or support the efforts from behind the frontlines through PvE activities like crafting to secure power in the Landsraad. Approach every situation differently using a wide arsenal of ranged and melee weapons, technology, abilities, vehicles and the mighty Sand Worms!

MindsEye

Featuring high-octane driving and explosive combat from Leslie Benzies (GTA).

Our next game is a single-player action adventure thriller that gives off vibes of Grand Theft Auto mixed with Detroit: Become Human. In MindsEye, play as Jacob Diaz, a former special-ops soldier haunted by fragmented memories from his neural implant. What begins as a personal quest quickly becomes a mission to save humanity from the rise of sentient robots. Set in the near future, Jacob’s life becomes intertwined with the volatile relationships between the eccentric CEO of Silva Industries, Marco Silva and the power-hungry mayor of Redrock, Shiva Vega. Where billionaire Silva wants to change the course of human evolution, Vega wants greater control of his technology and Redrock’s citizens in the process.  

Fight to uncover the truth in a world where AI, hi-tech experimentation and unlocked military power shape every encounter. Explore the desert city of Redrock, an intense, super-heated desert metropolis where technology is king, also known as ‘The Safest City in the World’. Get ready for explosive combat using an array of advanced weaponry to complete missions on foot, behind the wheel and in the air. MindsEye aims to deliver a richly detailed thriller with best-in-class cinematics and a thought-provoking story. 

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic

Our next pick is for horror fans with the next instalment in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series. In Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic, explore the abandoned workshop of Murray’s Costume Manor and unravel the dark mystery left by the reclusive inventor. This new world is created by the mind behind the slaughter, filled with secrets and ever-present threats with each flicker of the light.  Experience the horrors of The Mimic, a prototype endoskeleton that can adapt to any costume and become any character. 

Following the gameplay style structure of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, the eleventh entry continues the first-person gameplay, providing heart-pounding thrills as you explore the labyrinth of the Costume Manor. Armed with only your wits, a few gadgets, and a heavily redacted corporate briefing, you’ll attempt to retrieve Fazbear’s prized prototype technology while grappling with cryptic clues and a relentless shadow determined to dispatch all unwanted company. Can you survive the mystery and madness of Edwin’s unfinished work?

The Alters

How would your entire life change if you chose a different path in the past?

For anyone looking for some interesting sci-fi, look no further than The Alters. Witness an emotional sci-fi game that blends survival, adventure, and base-building elements. You play as Jan Dolski, the lone survivor of an ill-fated space expedition who has crash-landed on a hostile planet. To survive, Jan must use a substance called Rapidium to create alternate versions of himself, each shaped by crucial decisions from the protagonist’s past. Now, you and your Alters must operate your mobile base to explore the planet and search for precious resources to escape the hostile planet. Explore the numerous branching narrative paths when creating your Alters. Your choices will shape Jan’s relations with his Alters, impacting their journey, leading to multiple outcomes and endings.

Traverse the planet using your mobile base to search for resources like metals and organics. Be wary of venturing too far, numerous deadly anomalies are out there alongside the ever-present radiation of the sun. Gathered resources can be used in different ways, create necessary items or develop your base with facilities such as the Research Lab or the Social Room. Sometimes your alters will desire specific items and facilities, and you’ll have to choose to prioritise them or the mission. The burden of every decision lies solely on your shoulders, as you’ll never be able to satisfy everyone’s needs.

FBC Firebreak

Return to the strange world of Control in this standalone, multiplayer experience

Time to lock and load in Remedy’s multiplayer spin-off to Control, FBC: Firebreak. In this cooperative first-person shooter set within the mysterious home of the Federal Bureau of Control, currently under assault by otherworldly forces. The years-long siege on the agency’s headquarters, The Oldest House, has reached its boiling point. Play as a member of Firebreak, one of the FBC’s fearless first responders. You and your team are on call to confront everything from reality-warping anomalies to otherworldly monsters, no matter the odds. Join up with friends or strangers to tackle each job as a well-oiled crew. 

Surviving in this three-player cooperative FPS hinges on quick thinking and seamless teamwork as you scramble to tame raging paranatural crises across many unexpected locations. Before deploying on a job, select your weapons and customise your Firebreaker’s Crisis Kit with specialised tools, grenades, support items, and paranatural augments. With each job comes different challenges, experiment with different loadouts to perfect your playstyle to succeed in every deployment. Will you be able to contain the chaos, or will you finally lose control?

Lost In Random: The Eternal Die

Battle twisted foes using powerful abilities to escape this nightmarish realm.

Next, we have the sequel to Lost in Random, where the core gameplay has been fully reimagined. Lost in Random: The Eternal Die is a fast-paced action roguelite set in the whimsical world of Random. Play as Queen Aleksandra, the former ruler of Random, who is joined by her die-companion Fortune, on a mission for vengeance and redemption. The Eternal Die invites you back to the world of Random for another unforgettable chapter featuring a fully voiced cast of quirky characters. Blending dynamic real-time action, tactical combat, and risk-reward dice mechanics, this new entry seems to be taking inspiration from games like Hades for this roguelike adventure. 

In each run, explore four randomly generated biomes, each teeming with danger, secrets, and unpredictable challenges.  You’ll take on over 30+ unique enemy types and 4 ruthless bosses, each demanding skill and strategy to defeat. After each run, return to the sanctuary where you can unlock new weapons, buy powerful upgrades and take on quests from your allies. Wield an arsenal of four diverse and fully upgradeable weapons with distinct playstyles, unleash powerful card-based abilities, harness elemental relics, and strategically roll your die to shift the tide of battle. Participate in high-stakes wager games where the right roll could lead to incredible rewards or crushing consequences. 

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach

Deliver important cargo while piecing together a complex and compelling story

Finally, we come to the one game I’m personally excited about, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. The sequel to Hideo Kojima’s weirdest and probably most divisive game is almost upon us. Join Sam (Norman Reedus) as he sets off on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. You’ll meet returning characters like Fragile (Lea Seydoux), Heartman (Darren Jacobs), and the villainous Higgs (Troy Baker). As well as new characters like the mysterious Tomorrow (Elle Fanning), the intriguing Tarman (George Miller) and the oddball that is Dollman (Faith Akin). Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles and a haunting question: Should we have connected?

Explore the large, open-world environments that are incredibly varied and pose unique challenges to navigate through. Use familiar and completely new ways to traverse the different environments, including building a monorail system. Whether facing human foes or otherworldly entities, Death Stranding 2 offers a range of different options. Do you go in aggressively, sneak around enemies to achieve your goals, or try to avoid danger altogether? How you approach these situations is entirely up to you. Returning from the first game are the asynchronous multiplayer features. Actions from you and other players, such as the creation of roads or structures and the routes they have travelled, will become visible and usable to the player once they have successfully connected areas of the map.
