There are quite a number of side quests in Caravan SandWitch to keep you busy, and exploring Cigalo. One such quest involves a frog called Hyla, who is documenting the ruins of Cigalo, particularly the more notable landmarks. They send a request to Sauge to help them locate some old archives in each of these locations. Sounds simple enough, and it is, but these places are huge, and it’s easy to miss stuff. Therefore, this guide should help you through Hyla’s Study Assistant quest and locate the archives stashed away somewhere in each of the locations.

How to Start the Study Assistant Quest
The Study Assistant quest in Caravan SandWitch is assigned by Hyla, a green frog (or reineto, as they are known in the game). However, you won’t get access to the quest until you unlock the desert area in Chapter 2, as this is where the whole quest takes place.
After completing the tutorial in the simulator organized by Nèfle, you will receive a bunch of new tasks. One of these is labelled in Toaster as “Recruiting study assistant!” Note that this is not a time-restricted task, so you don’t have to complete it by the end of the chapter. It’s one of those on-going quests that you can complete any time, such as Curry’s FOOD! quest or finding all the robots’ consciousnesses. Don’t feel there is any rush to get on with this quest. You’re welcome to leave it until later. However, it is recommended that you do it because it provides some valuable information about Cigalo and the TARAASK storm, which is a key focal point in Caravan SandWitch.

Satellite Watchtower Archives (Study Assistant Quest Part 1)
The first Study Assistant task takes place at the Satellite Watchtower. If you’ve been working on activating the 3 receptacle relays, the Satellite Watchtower is home to the first receptacle. When you reach the Watchtower, look out for Hyla. They are sitting under a brown mushroom parasol on a rock next to a stone bridge. They will be marked on your map, in case you struggle to locate them. Once you’ve found them, go and talk to them.
The Satellite Watchtower is the location for the first part of the Study Assistant quest.
Hyla explains that they’re doing archive work, studying the state of the planet of Cigalo. They wonder what the giant satellite was used for, and recruit your help, using your expertise in urbex. To be more specific, Hyla is asking you to find a crate containing archives about the Satellite Watchtower and its purpose. It’s located somewhere at the Watchtower, which is where your exploration skills come in.

To get to the box of archives, here’s what you need to do. First, jump into the van and drive over to the yellow van platform under the giant satellite dish. You need to do this to activate a switch, in order to reach the archives. You’ll know the platform is activated because it turns turquoise, the cables change to turquoise, and a mechanical sound plays.
Make sure to park the van on the highlighted platform at the Satellite.
Exit the van – but don’t go up the stairs in front of you. Instead, turn around and go up the stairs at the stone building. On the platform, you’ll find the activated switch. Interact with it and the giant satellite will rotate. You can now cross the platform.

Ascend the satellite until you come across another switch on the edge of a platform. You should see the door into the building below. Push this switch to open the door.
When you push the second switch, you should see the door open below.
With the door now open, head back down and go through it to enter the small building. Once inside, either descend the ladder or jump down into the control room below. In here, not far from the ladder situated against the wall, is a white box with an orange stripe on the lid. This is the archives you are looking for. Interact with it to collect it.

Once you have the archives, return to Hyla outside and speak to them. You’ve completed the Study Assistant task… for now. It’s not over yet. In fact, it’s just beginning. However, you’ll need to wait until the next chapter in order to continue with the next part.
Labotech Archives (Study Assistant Quest Part 2)
As soon as you reach Chapter 3 of Caravan SandWitch, the next Study Assistant task will appear in Toaster. This time, Hyla is waiting for you at the Labotech. It’s the big ruinous building with all the mining trucks left abandoned outside. Hyla can be found at the front on the ground floor, standing atop a machine. Speak to them about the next task. There are more archives to be located at the Labotech. To give you a heads-up, you’re looking for the exact same thing as last time: a white and orange box.

Like last time, the first step is jumping back into your trusty van. Instead of driving onto any platforms though, you’ll be using your grapple hook to yank off a door located in the front chamber. By doing this, you can explore more of the Labotech.
Yank off the steel door at the Labotech to access the deeper regions of the building.
Go through the doorway and head towards the back. Here, you should find a yellow platform you can step onto. Doing this activates a bridge that appears, leading to another section. Cross this bridge to the other section and you’ll find a switch. Push this switch.

Jump down into the lower section of the Labotech and head towards the door in the middle. There, you’ll find another platform that needs activating by standing on it. However, this doesn’t open the door, and pushing the switch doesn’t work. If you look to the left, you’ll see another section hidden behind a metal fence and a bunch of crates. Climb over and follow the cable to another switch. By pushing this switch, you can now go back to the switch at the door to open it!

Beyond the door is a hidden control room. Right in front of you sitting on a crate is the Labotech Archives. Collect it, then return to Hyla and speak to them to complete the second part of the Study Assistant quest.

For the third part, you’ll need to wait until you reach Chapter 4 of Caravan SandWitch.
H-819 Docks Archives (Study Assistant Quest Part 3)
Hyla’s next Study Assistant task becomes available during Chapter 4, where this time, you’ll need to meet them at the H-819 Docks. This place has a lot of containers. The archives is bound to be in one of them. However, they aren’t located in the containers at the front of the building. It’s inside you need to search for the archives.

- Don’t be intimidated by the size of the docks. The archives here are easy to find.
Once again, completing this task starts with you getting into your van and using the grapple hook to pull off a door leading into the docks. Drive inside. Ahead of you is a purple platform that needs hacking. Do that and then drive onto the platform. What this does is move a container suspended overhead just ahead of you. This allows you to reach the archives.

Go up the stairs to the right of the suspended container. You’ll be able to jump into the container from the top. Inside will be the Docks Archives. As per usual, collect the archives, then take them to Hyla.
Go up the ladder to the right of the container to access the archives.
There’s just one final Study Assistant task to go, which you can’t do until Chapter 5 of Caravan SandWitch. You’re almost there!
Aqueduct Archives (Study Assistant Quest Part 4)
For the fourth and final Study Assistant task, you’ll be travelling to the Aqueduct (where the 3 receptacle relays are located). Hyla can be found sitting atop a crate. The Aqueduct archives are somewhere here. It’s quite a large place, but here’s where you can find them.

First, climb up to the location where the 3 receptacle relays are. Up there, you may see an orange zipline you can ride across. Zip along this line onto one of the control room roofs. At this point, you should see another zipline travelling to the other tower. Cross over to this tower. Here, you should see a hole in the floor with a ladder. Climb or jump down into this tower’s control room. This space is clearly abandoned. On top of one of the computers is the Aqueduct Archives. You may have to jump up to reach it and collect it. With the archives in your inventory, head back to Hyla.

Hyla provides some interesting information based on their findings in the archives: the Aqueduct contains the entrance of a tunnel leading to the TARAASK! Hyla has deduced that all four locations that you visited as part of the Study Assistant quest are connected to the TARAASK storm.
Concluding the Study Assistant Quest
You’ve found all the archives at all the locations as Hyla asked, and learned what they were all used for. Now what? Your final step to wrapping up the Study Assistant quest involves you heading over to the cave at the Croaking Forest, where the reinetos and tetos live. Hyla can be found on a ledge in here. Climb up to them and speak to them. You’ll speak with Hyla and the other reinetos. As a reward for helping Hyla, Fuscus gifts you a Reineto Guitar! And that concludes the Study Assistant quest in Caravan SandWitch!
