Monster Hunter Wilds
| Release | 28th February 2025 |
| Developer | Capcom Co Ltd |
| Publisher | Capcom Co Ltd |
| Platform | PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S |
| Sub-Genre | Hunting, Co-op, Dragons |
| Price | $69.99 |
Finally, our last pick is the next entry in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Wilds. The series finally returns and aims to give us a similar experience to what we had in Monster Hunter World. Like other games in the series, you play as a new hunter ready to fulfil your duty by tracking and defeating powerful monsters. The Guild intercepts a boy named Nata, the lone survivor of a monster attack at his village in the Forbidden Lands. After hearing the boy’s tale, the Guild organises an expedition to investigate. You are sent as part of a unit to search for the monster and to rescue Nata’s people known as the Keepers. You won’t be alone on this adventure, hunting partners and fellow expedition members will support you throughout.
The Forbidden Lands inhabits many monsters that have adapted to the region’s drastically changing weather shifts. During the harsh Fallow and perilous Inclemency periods, ravenous monsters will venture out to hunt in packs. However, during the Plenty periods, wildlife is rich and abundant. With that in mind, hunters will need to adapt to the new region and be ready to change tactics on the fly. It’ll take more than the grand arsenal of weapons and armour to take monsters on. You’ll need to learn to anticipate a monster’s behaviour and familiarize yourself with the environment.
