Avid game and narrative designer with a passion for literature, art and mathematics. I was a software engineer till about a few years ago, working for some Evil Corp. And now I’m here, working for myself and breaking into the brave big world of the game industry. When I was a kid, I was writing historical verses (fortunately nobody has suffered). Probably my most irritating habit is asking for cups of tea and a pinch of fine tobacco. I enjoy mathematics because it is not human and has nothing in particular to do with this planet or with the whole accidental universe – because, like Spinoza’s God, it won’t love you in return. I value good stories, sharp dialogues and tempered heroes, so multiplayer games are not really my thing, but at the same time I try to keep an open mind (within reasonable limits). Forever in love with H.P. Lovecraft, Dino Buzzati, Joe Abercombie, Dan Simmons, James Branch Cabell, Edgar Allan Poe, Michael Moorcock, Ursula K. LeGuin, Gene Wolfe and G.K. Chesterton. I used to play the violin, very, very badly but still I have a little tradition to cosplay The White Violin aka Vanya Hargreeves. I wouldn’t say I’m a planner since entropy is inevitable. My favorite Filipino mythological character is the manananggal. My favorite narrative games are probably The Witcher and The Last of Us. Or Soma. Or, hold on, The Stanley Parable, or What Remains of Edith Finch. I can’t seem to make up my mind what I’m trying to say. Never mind, let’s move one. I would love an opportunity to work on a game like that, that was trying to push and explore narrative within the game. Bookworm and literary critic at my leisure. I suppose you could call me a geek, even if you wake me in the middle of the night I could guide you through Arkham Horror (mind blowing tabletop game) or debate, by the light of the moon, on soft vs hard science fiction (for example, Hyperion vs Blindpsot).
What else is there to say? “Good communicator;” “can-do-attitude” and “team player”. Oh, no, no, more classy would be – “hard-working team player”,“innovative forward thinker” or “go-getting person.”
