Optical HDMI for New Consoles
It's well know that "regular" hdmi cables are not classified as 2.0, 2.1 etc, and, depending on the quality of the cable, you can use older ones for the newer consoles and get the HDMI 2.1 features, like 4k 120hz, etc.
I was wondering if that also applies for optical hdmi or other active cables for longer distances, since the quality of the material is not the only factor, since they rely on simple chips to make the conversions, etc.
Anyone has experience on the matter?
Thanks in advance
