After it was leaked last week, Capcom has finally made a long-awaited announcement: the company has revealed that the fan-favorite Zinogre will return for a new generation in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.
Zinogre is a wolf-like thunder wyvern that has long been popular among fans ever since it debuted in 2010’s Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. Its most recent appearance was in the Switch-exclusive Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, which first released in 2017 in Japan. Although Monster Hunter World and its Iceborne expansion are both packed with popular creatures, Zinogre was nowhere to be found until today’s announcement.
The reveal was made via a new trailer uploaded on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel. It can be viewed below.
Fans have long requested for Zinogre to appear in Monster Hunter World, but it won’t be the only addition found in the expansion. Iceborne will include everything from improved multiplayer to all-new Elder Dragons to a whole bucket load of quality of life improvements. It’s looking set to be a worthy upgrade to the critically-acclaimed Monster Hunter World when it launches for PS4 and Xbox One on September 6, with a PC release coming in January 2020.
