Weekly News Roundup Issue #58 – Watch Dogs Legion announced

Watch Dogs Legion was announced and showcased during Ubisoft’s E3 presentation. Set in near-future London and true to its name, the game will allow you to play as multiple characters, each with different strengths and weaknesses. Should any of them die, they’ll stay dead – forcing you to play with a different one and tackle the task at hand in a different way. The standout character of the presentation was definitely the badass grandma assassin which officially makes Watch Dogs the first game to include an elderly, slow-moving protagonist. Another game coming hot from the Ubisoft E3 presentation – Gods and Monsters showcased a CGI trailer which gave off all sorts of Legend of Zelda vibes. The game is made by the same team that worked on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and is also set in ancient Greece. It will task you with exploring an open world and tackling all sorts of monsters and gods plucked straight out of most famous Greek myths. The remake to end all remakes. The highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake finally showcased some gameplay footage and it didn’t disappoint. The very tail end of the Nintendo E3 presentation featured a brief teaser trailer that confirmed the sequel to Breath of The Wild is being made. While details are scarce, we know that the game will be set in the same version of Hyrule we explored in Breath of The Wild. How they plan to invoke the same sense of wonder and love for exploration – remains to be seen. Weekly News Roundup Issue #58 – Pay more to assemble?

After years of speculations fueled by that teaser trailer, we finally got a look at the Avengers game Square Enix has been working on. While much about the game still remains a mystery, we got a trailer that showcased the general premise as well as brief gameplay portions with each of the five Avengers – Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk and Black Widow. Square also revealed that this is only the initial lineup of heroes and that it plans to support the game for many years and include many other heroes. This raised the eternal microtransaction question but Square was quick to remove any most concerns saying that the additional characters will come free of charge and microtransactions will only be for cosmetic items. We remain cautiously optimistic.

Weekly News Roundup Issue #58 – Can Fallout 76 be saved?

Fallout 76 has had a bumpy road since it’s rocky launch. Bethesda recently came out and admitted that they knew the game would be poorly received and that they will, despite that, stay fully committed to improving the game. One such attempt is the inclusion of a battle royale mode named Nuclear Winter which will see 52 players go at it until only one is left standing.
